Old Saeco Vienna Superautomatico. Replaced pump 6 months ago. Seems to have trouble keeping primed. Tank full. Priming by opening water/steam spout sometimes will reprime the machine and it then works fine. After a few cups of coffee, it runs through a brew cycle and no longer produces any coffee. Repriming sometimes will not 'catch' and the open valve for the water dispenser just sputters air for several minutes.
My Vienna isn't producing hot water at all. I cant get steam either. I've let the machine heat water for about 15 minutes and still the Coffee LED flashes and no hot water is produced. I have used my multi meter and found the boiler to be receiving 230v which seems right to me but still no hot water. All the fuses seem to be working too. Please help, I miss my coffee :(My Vienna isn't producing hot water at all. I cant get steam either. But if this was the flow valve it would sputter on all brew strengths not just the strongest. Or does the flow valve work differently depending what strength brew you select? But if this was the flow valve it would sputter on all brew strengths not just the strongest. Descaling Single Boiler Home espresso machines(HOME SINGLE BOILER ESPRESSO MACHINES)
Approximately every 3 months (depending on your use and the water hardness), clean the machine with natural citric acid based decalcifying agent. 1. Add a descaling solution into the water reservoir. Mix thoroughly to dissolve (use warm water for better results). 2. Remove the filter holder and place a cup under the group head and another cup, or other container, under the steam wand to catch cleaning solution. 3. Turn espresso machine on, turn coffee pump on and run approximately 8 oz. of solution through the brew head. Turn machine off and let the machine sit for 15 minutes. 4.Run approximately 8 oz. through the steam wand, and again, turn machine off and let sit for 15 minutes. Repeat by allowing solution to run alternately through the steam wand and brew head. Turn espresso machine off after each cycle. Repeat process until solution has been run through. 5. Do not leave espresso machine on. Do not wait for the ready light to come on. Do not use the steam switch during this process. Do not allow reservoir to run empty! 6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly with fresh water. Refill reservoir with fresh water. Run half a tank of fresh water through group head, alternating between group head and steam wand.
Water is not being drawn from reservoir into boiler. The valve at the base of the boiler seems to function properly. After repeated attempts, I am unable to prime pump and fill boiler with water.
Hi This might work. Its for a Saeco Vienna. First off, don't leave the machine on for a long time if you don't have any water flow. If its been setting for a long time you might have a stuck check valve in the pump. The best way to prime the pump is to put in test mode. Turn the machine off. Push and hold the 2 right buttons at the same time. While holding them down, turn the machine on. Release the buttons and turn the dial counter clockwise till it stops. This will keep the machine from heating. If you push the center button the pump will activate. Open the steam knob. If you don't have your old priming pump, you can use a bulb aspirator. Remove the water tank and fill the bulb with water. Insert the bulb into the hole on top of the machine where the tank was. Push and hold the center button and squeeze the bulb to force water into the hole. Sometime it takes 2 people to prime the machine easier. If the bulb squeezes easily and water flows, you did it. If not keep trying. You may have to remove the pump and blow some air through the small end (intake side) with an air hose.
Hi
First off, don't leave the machine on for a long time if you don't have any water flow.
If its been setting for a long time you might have a stuck check valve in the pump.
The best way to prime the pump is to put in test mode.
Turn the machine off and then push and hold the 2 right buttons at the same time. While holding them down turn the machine on.
You may have to remove the pump and blow some air through the small end (intake side).
Try this, open steam wand, if it calls for ventilate pusi in steam knob, if that works then the tap rod on the steam valve needs to be replaced. To me it sounds like the machine is building up pressure and the discharge is not releasing through the water circuit.
Turn machine on and make sure that the knob is fully opened, if the pump does not engage(vibrate) then either the machine is not getting power or there is a problem with the pump.
Prime refers to priming the pump. The error message means that there is air in the system which is preventing the pump from pumping water. To correct this, fill the tank with water, press the water button on the right side, and turn the water/steam knob to open. Allow the water to flow until the stream is steady. Press the water button again and your problem should be fixed
fill up the water tank try it if nothing coming out in the starter kit they give a plastic pump if you have fill it up with water remove the water tank in the center hole were the water goes put the pump and force water in there if you dont have the pump try to inject water in there with at turkee pump anything you got it gonna prime the pump put water back open the valve for the water on the side where you do the milk should do it cheers
try priming the machine ( find the plastic gizmo that came with the machine for this purprose..can you get water from the steam nozzle?..there is an internal water filter that may become clogged if you aren't keeping the water tank clean.
