We havea TRENDnet Wireless AP TEW-430APB - keeps dropping wireless

Out wireless router, Which is only 6 months old, keeps dropping the wireless signal. I unplug it for a minute and then it starts working again. We have had our computer guy in and he says nothing is wrong with the router, but why does the signal keep dropping. It is really frustrating to have to keep unplugging it. If anyone has suggestions we would really appreciate it. Thanks!

It can drop signal if there are other devices working in 2.4GHz band interfering with it. Try to switch over to 5GHz band.

SOURCE: i have dsl modem routeur

You may be trying to connect through a G or B device to your N router. Verify that there are no serious obstructions or that the pc is not underneath something or enclosed. Metal near the pc can cause the signal to lose strength. Not having a wireless N card or adapter can also cause this.

Also if you are trying to connect through ethernet cable verify that windows is being assigned an automatic ip address, if it is static in windows change it to automatic.

Connect your PC to the router with a cable to one of the LAN connections - Now you need to Log into the setup of the router - to do that open a web browser, use Internet explorer (some routers setup pages do not work correctly with other browsers) In the browser address bar - Enter IP address http://192.168.1.100 to the address location. When there is a screen needs to enter the User name and Password, both of the default Username and Password is “admin”
Now you can goto the wireless section or secruity section and set the type of encyption to WEP, WPA, WPA-PSK etc and then make up your own password. See Page 12 of the User Manual
On the PC Double click on the wireless connection in the system tray (bottom right hand side of screen) and then connect manually to your wireless signal - you will be asked for the password you set in the router.
Now you are connected.
You may need to remove any old wireless profiles you have on the PC/Laptops

Access point failure

Unfortunately cyber this does not have a mode or option to act as a repeater .I have check their website and check the specification of the device..You may want to get the WAP54g from Linksys as well for it has that option (act as a wireless repeater) or get the WRE54G wireless extender or repater for Linksys router.

Hope this was informative.
