Keyboard on Privia will not energize

Keyboard will not turn on. Also, are there accessible fuses or a reset for an MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) inside the unit ?? What kind of protection is there from over voltage? 220 instead of 110 overseas ?? I ordered a new cord, and plugged it in to a stepdown device, so this second try should have worked because I'm getting 110 volts converted to lower voltage for the unit.

MOVs do not have a reset button.

Your AC adapter actually should have a fuse inside it to meet EU safety and CE safety requirments. Getting that apart is the challenge.

Test it with a voltmeter first.

If there is voltage, check to make sure the coaxial connector center post is the right size for the plug. If it is, you will need to open the cabinet. There might be a fuse present because of the battery option, in which case that fuse may be failed, a resistor in close vicinity may have failed as well. A broken wire or solder track would be more likely.

If no voltage output from supply, 2 ways to gain entry into a glued wall wart are not the prettiest, but it gets you into them. It saves buying a new one. One is to use a knife carefully and slice through the plastic at the seam where the 2 shells come together, it takes a while. The other method is brutish and quick- a side cutter/diagonal cutter on the corners is usually enough to break them on the seam.

Then check the fuse itself for continuity. If the fuse checks okay, carefully set it so you can apply power to it and check the rectifiers to see if any burned out- you want to essentially check the unit to see if the rectifiers simply failed. If it is a transformer supply, measure at the point where the transformer leads join the bridge rectifier quad. If there is AC present, the rectifiers failed. If there is no voltage/currnet- just check for voltage- the transformer burned out. If the unit is a switch mode type supply, check the rectifiers with an ohm meter with no power applied from the mains. You may or may not see any visigly failing capacitors- if you do those can be replaced, or you can simply replace the supply. This latter type might be held together with screws- it will certainly have less heft to it.

Casio Privia PX-135 sound issues?

It sounds like you are experiencing a problem with your Casio Privia PX-135 keyboard. There could be several possible causes for this issue, including problems with the keyboard's internal hardware or software, or issues with the cables or connections between the keyboard and other equipment.
To troubleshoot this problem, you could try the following steps:
  1. Check the connections between the keyboard and any other equipment, such as an amplifier or speakers. Make sure all cables are securely plugged in and not damaged.
  2. Try a different set of speakers or headphones to see if the issue is with the keyboard or the output device.
  3. Check the keyboard's settings and make sure that it is configured correctly.
  4. Try resetting the keyboard to its factory default settings. This can often resolve issues with the keyboard's software or firmware.
If none of these steps help, it is possible that

Does the casio AD A12150LW MAINS ADAPTOR HAVE A FUSE INSIDE

No - the fuse is inside the keyboard. Or at least it should be. On your particular model have a look on the underside of the keyboard (where your knees go).

I have a Casio Privia & I believe liquid fell unto the keyboard & as a result 8 notes do not have any sound. How can I get this repaired? I bought this 3 years ago.

You can try to dry the inside of the keyboard by taking the end of the key board off.
Take a hair dryer and place it at the end of the keyboard and let the air dry out the fluid this may take some time depends on how much fluid you have inside.
Do not use the dryer on high because the heat will warp the bed the keys fit into, this will damage the board which cost about $ 400.00 to repair. Do not turn on the key board while the fluid is still inside this can also damage the keyboard. I belive you have already turn it on because you said eight keys do not work.Do not open the keyboard because the keys will be hard to put back in the grooves the way they were.

You can try and have it repaired at American Perfect Crystal Corporation

They will charge about 50-89 dollars to check it for you and if its reparable the checking fee will go toward the repair.
I wasted kool-aid in my casio privia while the keyboard was off, but made a grave mistake because I tried to repair it my self with the hair dryer at a high level. I was told that the major board was warp, that being said try not to do self repair.

Casio Privia PX-800: When using the sustain

Check if the cble frm the pedal MIGHT be flexing or pulling on the keyboard case when you use it. Such movement COULD vibrate the power connector causing your problem.

Make sure you have the right power supply for the unit as one with too large a hole for the power pin would be intermittent like this.
