I'm guessing you're talking about the dash light aound the radio. The dash lights around the radio share the same fuse with all the other lights that come on when you turn the parking light on. If the other light are working then your fuses are fine. What i think might have happen was when you took the dash cover off, the bulbs behind it might had burn out. You might want to try new bulbs.
Generally you any after market radio can be installed into any car. You might have to cut the original wiring connector but basically all you need to hook up a basic radio/cd player is a positive and a ground wire. That's what powers the radio/cd player. Next all you need to do is hook up the speaker wires the unit. One other option is to check out ebay for a used radio/cd player. You will do better getting a radio that does not have an anti-theft feature. If it has an anti-theft feature you will have to enter a code to make it work.
This is because you need to purchase the aftermarket-oem harness plug. This harness plugs into your original equipment radio harness and allows you to plug any aftermarket radio into the stock deck wires. After you plug the harness in you can then connect the radio wires together.Your local autoparts store or circuit city or best buy or audio express will have these radio conversion plugs.I hope I could help
I had the same problem and i brought a new ford oem cd player 2 times and my mechanic says its an electrical problem with some fords not the Cd player or the radio. So your cd player may not be junk, it may be electrical or wiring problem.
Well, some how, the wiring for the front speakers didn't get hooked up or hooked up improperly. I assume it is a new cd player? If not, maybe it's the player itself.
