Are you plugging directly into the computer or using a USB Hub. Cheaper USB hubs have awful data throughput. I have one that I tried to plug a sd card reader into and it would take ten minutes for a 60 megabyte file. Connect directly to a port. Or download Samsung diagnostics and make sure that the drive is in proper working order. Verifying The Hard Disk Drive Is Working Normally

plug ur hard disk in another usb port.or run a virusscan.

try checking it on some different usb ports or systems, or try it changing the cable

Most likely the hd is bad. If you want to know for sure purchase a usb enclosure, break open your drive case and put the hd in the enclosure. That will tell you if it's the hd or the circuitry of your case.

the hardisk inside is failling try to open your portable drive case and replace the hard disk
you can buy replacement in many computer store.. but the price is slightly deferent to portable drive
if you choose to replace the hdd. its not much cheeper to portabe hdd..

Try deleting any partitions on the drive by using Control panel, administrative tools, computer management, disk management. now highlight the drive and right click and click on delete partition. Now create a new partition and see if it will do a full format on it. if not then its stuffed. you have no choice but to buy another drive.

Have you tried using another USB cable? If you haven't then try it first and if that doesn't work, it is possible that your external HDD is busted.

CRC errors mean that your drive is failing. Return and replace the drive if it is still under warranty.
