I have three separate telephone systems operating off the same line in my home. There are two separate Panasonic telephones: an old 2.4 Ghz DSS (Model KX-TG2564CS), a new Digital 5.8 Ghz (Model Kx-TG5438C) and a Uniden 2.4 Ghz possibly analog??? (Model EX13246). I can hear conversations on the 5.8 Ghz from the 2.4 Ghz systems but I cannot be heard by those using the 5.8 Ghz. Only the 5.8 GHz rings. I can determine ring count for the 5.8 ghz (default is 4) but not the 2.4 Ghz systems. Perhaps the ring count for the 2.4 Ghz systems is greater. As well, there does not seem to be any way to alter the ring count on the 2.4 Ghz systems. Whether rationalizing the ring count would solve the ring problem is another question. An added complexity is that the 5.8 Ghz has its own built in answering system while the 2.4 Ghz systems access the existing Bell Canada voice mail service. Sometimes voice mail is trapped by one but not the others. There does not appear to be a pattern. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Ring count, timing, and speed, are direrent in all model, and thats the problem, even if you use two phones of the same model can experiment the same problem with the aswering sistem, the other problem is the phone not the line check for mute button...good luck
I most cases it should not matter that you have different phones to 1 phone line. You should make sure that all the phones are running off the main feed box for your property and not off each other. Check that all the wires are connected in each port and that the phone line running between the phone itself and the feed box does not exceed 50 feet because this can cause the phone to echo or not work at all.
