2002 Lincoln LS cd player won't work after battery

Does it die after you start it?
Your battery only gives the necessary "juice" to turn the starter, and crank. Your alternator takes over once it is running.
It is not your battery.

just eject them backwards from 6 until 1 that worked for me

How old & what condition is the battery,on an LS
they only seen to last 4.5 years

Try only one Ford- approved PATS key that is programmed & you know has been working & nothing else nearby, such as a key chain
with other objects


Does the LED indicator flash rapidly or glow steady for 3 seconds,
with key in Run or Start ,if so, you got problems & will need a scan tool to get the codes,not a code reader.


Does the starter turn over the motor?


Need at least 2 keys programmed to system


You got at least 7 fuses to check on 2 of the 3
junction blocks (fuses)

This can be from a couple things that caused this. Most the time and 99% of the time that causes this is the cd driver is dirty, which some times it just spits it out after error message comes on. AND in your case, it is staying in there spinning and reading error, and won't eject. One way that is possible to have this kick out is, to unhook battery, wait 5 minutes, and re- hook battery up, and sometimes it will trigger it to eject. If not, you do not want to start forcing something in there, it could cause more damage. You would then, i suggest , take it to car stereo shop as they have all kinds of methods to check it out and eject cd and figure out the fix method. Which could be as simple as a good cleaning, or cd itself was bad, or mechanism is screwed up.

pull the radio fuse out to see if the battery hold then check your radio/cd player for defects

My father inlaw just purchased a 2001 lincoln, with a six disc changer, Question is he loaded the unit ,and now he wants to eject the cd's and the changer won't open? any suggestions thanks

Removed CD player for jammed CD. Reinstalled but car ignition and most electrical sytems won't operate although fuses appear OK. Don't know if it is related to the anti-theft system.When ignition is turned on, both tach and speedometer needles peg out and return to zero but no type of ignition
