Your answer was so far out of left field. Tfhere is no gas smell/absolutely no indication of a gas leak. I have asked this question in several ways and to no avail. I will just accept that you know nothing about this range, or you can't read. Thanks for nothing, jon keepers

Petrol smell in car

Check all gas lines from your gas tank to the carburetor and see if there are damp spots and if you see any damp spots take your finger and wipe the damp spot and smell. If it smells like gas there probably is a slight leak. even a moist spot of gas will smell big time.
Check all around your gas tank as well. A question i have do you have a clean air filter. If not it might be choking itself to *****.

I have had a strange smell in my house for about eight months. I've had all sorts of techs in. It's chemically, not musty or dead-animal-y. When it is stronger, my eyes water, I get itchy, and I can sort...

$2000 is a lot of money to see if you have contaminants in your home. The answer is always yes. I recommend a qualified technician pressure test your unit with nitrogen to negate a leak being the source. Look at Air Knight Rheme technology online. This is the best solution for Indoor Air Quality in a residential setting and I have yet to see a situation where it didnt work. Besides odor elimination, it eliminates VOC's, germs, viruses, etc.

Igniter knobs on my gas stove turn just enough to let gas escape.

There isn't much you can do to the stove outside of buying a stove that has standing pilots or shutting off the gas each time you leave the kitchen. This is a problem with the pilotless design. If the knob isn't turned far enough the activate the spark switch, gas can escape without being lit. Vigilance is your only answer outside of the solutions suggested.

Gas exhaust smell when Hot water heater ignites

Absolute danger here:

1) Call gas company IMMEDIATELY to check for gas leak that can cause explosion and fire.

2) Call plumber immediately to fix improper combustion or improper vent before toxic combustion by-product kills family.
Gas appliances must vent toxic by-product outside and away from home where the gasses will kill the planet instead of you.

A strong smell of gas when first comeson

Absolute danger>>>>!!!!!!!
You absolutely must call gas company immediately.
They will turn off gas to water heater immediately.
Leaking gas appliance is extremely dangerous.

If you have propane, the gas is heavier than air and will settle to floor. So you can be standing in an invisible puddle of explosive gas and never smell it.
If you have natural gas, the gas rises to ceiling. The entire ceiling cavity can be filled with explosive gas, but you only smelled it briefly before it drifted upwards.

Do not delay getting this problem repaired by professionals, or fixya might lose a customer.

I have a slight propane smell in the house, but the furnace is still running. Upon inspection no leaks are detected, but the bottom flame on the burner does not seem to be in trim. Could rust or an...

The simple answer to your question regarding the inefficient burner is Yes. Also, be sure you're not running out of gas. That can also cause the odor. Also, a partial blockage in the furnace's exhaust vent piping can cause it.

Hope this helps you track it down. At the same time, unless you're a certified gas technician, don't undertake something you're not familiar with, as far as making a repair is concerned.

It smells like gas when I'm driving

Stop driving the car and have it checked for leaks all the way around. There is a leak somewhere for the gasoline. It could be a gas line, or the evaporative system, or a gas tank leaking.

Do you see any spots on the ground that might indicate where exactly it is leaking?

02 nissan pathfinder excessive gas consumption i smell gas at the back of the truck but dont see any leaks any ideas

Several things may cause this to happen:
first check your gas cap is securely tighten after refilling sounds silly but may work.
Can be a gas line broken that not necessarily should leak.
Also can be a gas pump malfunction, check for a loud humming coming under the back seat while engine running. If you confirm this loud humming noise try replacing the pump unit (not the whole harness wich is far more expensive).
Hope this will help
