Scrambled Image at random intervals

My tv has been getting a scrambled image (mostly thin horizontal lines all throughout the image are scatered about, but larger chunks are all over the place as well both vertically and horizontally). This happens with any of the inputs when it does it. (all or none). If the TV is turned off and unplugged for some hours and then plugged back in and turned on it seems to fix it, but then after being run for some hours it does it again. The monitor becomes completely unusable. Any other information I should include here?

I went ahead and got ahold of Samsung... supposed to be calling me in 24-48 hours to setup an in-home service appointment... *sigh* I've seen lots of people complain about how slow their customer service is.

Pioneer PRO-710HD loosing power and now showing scrambled image

See other solutions to the intermittencies. I think your set can still be remedied by the resoldering op, especially since it still powers on successfully and stays on. I had one where the screen would stay blank while the set powered up sucessfully and stayed on, and the resoldering op resolved that problem. His set is working fine now.

PJ458D Displays Multiple Lines and scrambled picture

White noise-the image you get when you turn your television to a channel that isn't receiving a signal. Sorry, this is an old term for on-air televisions. Its kinda the same image you get when your DirecTV signal gets scrambled during a thunderstorm.

I'm getting a wobbly, scrambled image

Yes I understand what you mean to me. If your DVD player is running through a coxial [analog] output/input. Try retuning your television presdet for the player. If you have a digital output, rca,av,svideo make sure that the plugs are properl;y inserted and not faulty and are inserted in the RIGHT plug. If your DVD player is running through a surround sound video router test it without running ir through the surround. Hope this helps.

Akai LCT42Z6TN

I had the exact same problem already and my LCD is less than 8mo old. One of the techs from AKAI told me that its a known problem and many tv's were coming back "unserviceable". They now have a "supposed" fix for the problem. I only hope it really works and its not just a "carry-over" until the warranty ends. I am beginning to think its a quality issue and the units may just be defective. Thismay be thier way of doing a quick-fix vs. recalling all those tv's. This is what he gave me to as a solution to give the serviceman when he comes to fix the LCD.

AKAI model LCT42Z6TM: If there is no image or a badly distorted image with horizontal static lines, usually with four boxes in all four corners of the screen, there is a possible fix for this. There are four capacitors on the main board that have been identified as the primary cause of this symptom. Replace the capacitors at location numbers C280, C302, C320, C323 - 100UF 35 VOLTS [dxh]

Picture scrambled periodically

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.
