I work on washing machines as a hobby but have run into a possible problem with a GE Prodigy top loader. I select a load size (example-heavy) then hit the start/pause button. The machine washes just fine and goes through the cycle to rinse and on to finish, but the timer never moves from its position of "heavy." The lights on the top change. The ones that tell you 15,9 or 6 minutes wash. All of those lights change but timer dont move. My question is....Is this normal because I have never worked on one of these models.
Try with another preset(got 14), and see to compare whats happens, any way as another (dont remember who) tech of this forrum say, "if it not broke dont fix it"..good luck

most top loader flint collectors are in the top of the agitator where you put in the comforter fabric softener. Pull this section up and the lint sock will be at the bottom of it
Have you tried to unplug the machine, sometimes the control boards can get stuck and if you unplug it for say 30 seconds then plug it back in, it may reset itself. otherwise you may have to call someone these are very complicated machines.
replace the hose that leads to the fill switch. there is most likely a pin hole sized hole in it not allowing the air pressure to build up and make contact witht the fill switch
