My guess would be that the game adapter does not provide dhcp service.
Knowing that its default IP is 192.168.1.250, you have to set a manual IP to your machine in the same subnet, say 192.168.1.1 with default subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and leave remaining fields empty.
once done, you may be able to access its web based utility now.

Hello there.
You can download the drivers (that are usually on the CD) from here. Please select your 'Version' from the list. You can look at the back of the device to find out which one you have, as there are many called WPC54G. Then after choosing the version click GO then click on 'Driver' to start the download.
This will let your wireless device function on your laptop computer.

If it says local or unidentified network that means you are just connected to the router on the network but not through the internet. Try to go to manage wireless network, remover your network there and add it again, connect to your own network and make sure to type the correct network key., then check again. You can also try connecting to other wireless network to further isolate the problem.

: if its VISTA or XP, please remove the network profile in your laptop ...
then search again for the network ... by the way what router are you using ? if its linksys please update this thread so that i can assist you if there is a need to reconfigure.
