Sounds like a coincidence or it could be that your computer is working harder when online and therefore getting hotter and shutting down. try and get a cooling pad.

When the screen is white instead of taking out the battery and putting it back in can I do something else?

Not sure why your removing the battery?
If you are shuting down the machine. Close all running programs before shuting down otherwise the machine has to close each program in turn before thr machine can shut down all together. Depending on how the settings are for the power button. The shut down process can be forced by holding down the power button until the machine has shut down. Black screen instead of white. Hope this helps answer your question.

I have a compaq computer that works great for 1 hour the shuts do

Is it shuting down? Or just instantly going off.

If it is shutting down, adjust the power settings.
  • Control Panel
  • Power Options
  • Make sure the scheme you want is selected. For a desktop it should be Home/Office or Always on.
  • Make sure that System Standby and Hibernate (if available) are set to the length you want.

My computer keep shuting saying monitor going to

start button >settings >control panel > Power Option > set time for monitor to sleep if inactive...if you dont want the computer to sleep go up to the hibernate tab and uncheck it. If you want the computer to stay on regardless, move all drop down menus to "never" instead of a time.

A/c shuts down after about 30 seconds

Sounds to me either a low refrigerant charge or low air volume over the evap coil (inside). There is a sencer for temps outside maybe it's tripping out on that.

Computer Keeps Shuting Off/Battery is Useless

Try running a good malware program like AdAware. Often these spyware programs can driver your processor to 100%, causing it to heat up too much and shutting things down. Once you have the anit-spyware loaded, bring your system up in safe mode. This will allow the spyware to search the hidden partitions on your fd, along with the rest of the disk.
