You can fix this for $5. You can confirm the problem by taking the
back off and see of the red and green led on the circuit board are
flashing. They will be steady if the board is ok. The fan is usually
just rocking too like it is trying to start. The part is a capacitor
and is $5, but you will need to be able to remove and solder a part on
the circuit board. If you need the part, just let me know.

the company has been out of the control board for a while and it requires you to soldier wires. You can get the board and the cooler on ebay for $47 and just swap them out.No soldiering. just type your model vt-12teds on ebay search. David
Could you identify the exact capacitor that's bad? Tthen I can just buy two of them locally and replace them.
The red/green light on my upper control lit up then die and the fan stop spinning. The bottom control just ticks and the lights flicker. Where would I buy the capacitor?

Based on what you described, it sounds like there may be a problem with the control board, the control board can be purchased from the manufacturer Vinotemp 800-777-8466. I believe the cost is $34.95.

It's the overload protector thats gone bad. Remove the plastic cover on the side of the compressor( LG model NS30LACG). The OLP is the one on top. If you open it up you will find that it may have some burn marks from electrical arcing. The part number is on the side (P6R8MC). Do a Google search for it. It costs about 12 bucks.

It sounds like your control module is bad. Vinotemp does list the replacement part as available at a cost of around $35

A friend of mine and I each purchased a VinoTemp 12-bottle cooler from Costco a little less than a year ago. We both had the exact same issue where it started ticking and the temp display no longer displayed anything. I also unplugged and replugged and the ticking continued. Ended up returning the product.
Unfortunately it's been a bit over a year. Problem with my vinotemp vt-12teds is exactly the same.
Red/Green diodes flash on the rear, fan looks like it wants to spin but just 'ticks'. Ticking noise emanates from the unit, but cooling has stopped and front display lights are out. No fuses appear anywhere (terribly cheap design).
I haven't found a solution anywhere...
