Mostly in the top side of the radiator, in older models on the cylinder block nearby the thermostat, older ones have one wire newer ones have 2 or 3.
Try to get a HAYNES manual for the make & model, they are exxpensive but they have all the info you will ever need in easy step by step guides, with photo's!

If it is an older mechanical machine (NOT computerized), it probably needs oiling. The old oil has solidified and is actually sticking the moving parts together enough that the motor is unable to make the machine work. Do not force the motor or it may cause it to burn out. Consult the owner's manual for oiling instructions. Use ONLY fresh good quality oil!

Depends on the make & model...

Some older mechanical sewing machines need regular cleaning & oiling. Check your user manual.

You need to know if your machine is band driven(older model) or gear driven(newer model). Google model to find out or look it up in manual if you have it.
If older model the rubber belt is broken and needs to be replaced OR if newer model the gear that turns the drum is burned out and needs to be replaced. Either way, it best to have a service tech come out and fix it. The rubber band might be old and hard to find & if gear & motor are gone may be too expensive to fix, cheaper to buy another unit.

I found a PDF file on Sears.com website for the original manual for my belt / circular sander.

The manuals are all available to download from www.meade.com.

If your scope has the motor drives and a control panel into which a controller could be plugged, then you just need to buy an Autostar 497 - always available on eBay for about £85. However, there are older models of the ETX which only have one motor or as a spotting scope for terrrestrial use with no motors - Autostar cannot be connected to these.

Look at the pictures of scopes on eBay which come with Autostar - if your looks like these, Autostar will fit. Else you are out of luck!
