I think there are two different problems listed here.
1)Blank screen. This could be a couple things. If the screen is totally dark it may be that the backlight is broken or disconnected. since it is a little older camera it might not be worth buying a new one but it might be worth opening up and fiddling with the connections.

2)Pop Art. This sounds like a broken LCD. You can get a new one from canon for ~$50 and install it yourself. It is pretty straight forward but you will need some little screwdrivers.

Blank screen

Ok did the lens open completely? Does the lens cover open. I have had a Panasonic do this once. If it opens the sensor most likely is gone, or the display. Sometimes if you are careful you can remove the back an check the connections to the screen by removing it an putting back on an it can clear the problem. Sounds crazy bit has worked a few times on other cameras. My guess is camera is gone an cheaper to replace.

When I turn my PowerShot A85 on the Canon Logo appears on the screen for a second then the screen goes blank. I can still take a picture, but can't use the display. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Does your camera have a button or switch on it that says something like this: "LCD Backlight" and "On/Off" for the toggle switch that goes with that LCD Backlight?
If I turn off the LCD Backlight on my digital camera, I cannot see anything, but I can take pictures anyway. When I turn that Backlight back on, I see everything I point the camera at, and can take pictures without problems.
The Backlight helps you to see what it is at which your are pointing your camera.
Makes a big difference. And you can accidentally hit that switch and turn it off without being aware you have done so.

Blank screen

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP (Display) button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on and off in picture taking mode to save battery power. You could then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn it back on, just the DISP button one more time.

Blank LCD screen on shooting mode, but does show settings. Will not take pictures. Replaying mode works, shows pictures taken before screen went blank. New batteries. What is going on??? Is it...

The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):

Blank LCD screen

First, let's try the obvious. Did you accidentally hit the "DISP" button (bottom row of buttons, third from the left)?

If not, you mention you can see the photos on the PC. Do they look fine, or are they also black or distorted?

LCD monitor is blank

Canon would have to fix this for you. The fault may be the screen itself, or the LCD viewfinder drive IC on the camera's circuit board. In this case they will replace the circuit board.

Canon PowerShot Dropped: Blank Screen

For Ravi, this definitely sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/11/canon-digital-cameras-showing-black.html

Applicable cameras include:
A40, A60, A70, A75, A80, A85, A95, A300, A310, S1 IS, S60, S200, S230, S330, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110
By the way, don't tell Canon that you dropped the camera. Sounds like the CCD imager was about to go bad anyway, and the drop just accelerated this.
