I dont know what type of card you talking about. For example SD cards have small lever and moving it allows going from write protecting mode to full access

There is a lock switch on the memory card that you can set to protect the card. Have a look at the card and check if you can see the switch. Just push it in the other direction than it is at present and all should work fine.
