Hi I have hitachi 26LD6200. Trying to receive TV but there is no picture and screen is bright pink (there is sound). Picture is fine when playing DVDs. Thanks for help
I have a hitachi tv and i tried to move it and i have sound but no picture could you help me with this
It sounds like the tuner demodulator has failed. Many times I have found that it is cheaper to buy an external hi-def tuner than repair the one that is in the set. The fact that the tuner is finding channels but not displaying them is a good sign that the demodulator has failed. In one case I had with Sony rear projector, it would have been $800 to repair the internal hi-def tuner and the customer can buy an external tuner for $100-$200. Sorry if this is not the answer you wanted; if you fel this si a good response to your question, please be sure to rate me,. Thanks!

Hi thanks for the message. I have not connected the tv to a cable box or etc, just trying to receive with the built in tuner. Do you think this could be from arial? I have done a program search so it finds the channels ok but with no picture. thanks again
I have the same problem, pink screen with no picture on anything inc. dvd. Sound works fine. When i first bought the TV it had this problem, an engineer came out and 'fiddled' with everything and got a picture, TV has been fine since. But i recently moved house and now i plug all the leads back in and i have same problem again.
Sorry, but I don't know Hitachis' well enough to make a diagnosis. Here's what I would do:
It plays DVD's ok. When you say you're trying to watch TV, is it with the built in tuner, or do you have it connected to a cable box or satellite box? If it's connected to an external box, be sure you have the cables connected correctly. The symptom you describe can happen if you hook the component cables up in the wrong order.
Screen is dark, no picture. If I shine a flash light at the screen I can see a picture
