1. Use another USB port on same computer 2. Shut down computer, turn-on computer, wait for computer to finish booting up, then plug back-in 3. Use another computer
If the above fail, then it may be the data traveler itself. When these USB storage devices are unplugged from computers, and NOT safely removed, the USB device becomes unusable.
The thumb drive might have some fault. Plug it in other OS mainly windows XP and Linux. If still same problem persists after tried in Linux, problem is with pen drive. You can ask for a replacement from the dealer as it has guarantee for 5years.
Hello, Try re-inserting it a few times. If not recognised, click for troubleshooting and see driver details. If it says that device drivers either not required or not installed, it means the device drivers required to make the data traveller function are not installed in it. This is a manufacturing defect. You can get a replacement for free from your dealer.
If it is Win XP with SP1 ( check this - tight click My Computer, click Properties and check if it is Service Pack 1), then you need the latest SP from microsoft (that is SP3).
WinXP not recognizing USB drives, the SP is the most common cause I have seen. Update to SP3 and it should solve your problem.
