Turns on by itself

My JVC has recently been turning on by itself. We never had this problem before, but recently moved and when I hooked it up (there were some new connections, as we had not used with the television before) it started turning on by itself. I am afraid it will overheat if it is constantly on, beside the fact I don't want sound on all of the time. Thanks in advance for your help.

If the tv turns on only since you plugged in the TV, it is made to detect the sound from the tv and turn on. Unplug the tv wires from the receiver and see if that works.

First thing to do is to take out the batteries out of the remote and see if it still turns on by itself. If it doesnt, go to http://www.remotes.com and get a new one. If it does still have a problem, Its most likly in the remote IR sensor or the microprocessor and this has or should be diagnoised by a trained tech as its all solid state and the way to do this would be to look at the waveforms in the remote, microprocessor, and power supply circuit. Good Luck

My JVC RX6000VBK does not get the signal from or to my subwoofer.

i had the same problem a few times, they are pretty picky receivers.
first take a look in your settings and make sure none of your speakers are set on large, if they are they automatically shut off the woofer,
2, try the adjust option and crank the bass and throw on the bass boost
3. manually turn the woofer on through the receiver itself
4. try and turn up the woofer itself if is powered
5. try hooking the woofer up to the secondary speaker jacks by bridging it, (positive on left and negative on right for even power)

if none of these options work then the woofer itself may be defective even though it lights up

Vcr does not run

Try changing the channels on the VCR itself. If you can do that, then it would indicate a problem with the VCR's remote. If you are still unable to change channels on the VCR manually, it could indicate a circuitry problem, for which you will have to get the VCR serviced.

Auto shut off after powering on

please confirm your hooking is fine and try with good cable-make your volume master to minumum.and disconnect all speakers if the trouble goen you have a problem in your speaker and its cables.
if the problem remain the trouble will be in your system itself.and need to be fix in workshop.
