What is the corrective action for a black screen?

Depends on your connection. If it's a red, blue and yellow. Check the yellow and make sure it in the right spot. Give the wire little wiggle at both ends. Check for a short. Also. Check that you have them in the inputs. You'll be surprised on how often that little mistake happen even to the best of us. (Outputs to inputs and inputs to outputs) lol. This work with composite too. Now if its an hdmi connection. Try giving the connection little wiggle. It might be getting a bad contact. Or if you repeatedly disconnect you could of worn-out the connection and/or cable. Oh if rca can also get worn-out to.

I cant keep my tv turned on after i pushed the rgb button by mistake it keeps on displaying no signal and then it goes off

Turn on the TV again. You need to change the input from RGB back to cable or HDMI or Component or whatever input you have a source for. If you don't know which one, look at the back of the TV and the wires you've got plugged into it.
If it's 1 round coaxial cable, change the input to Cable.
If it's three wires (red, white, and yellow) change the input to A/V.
If it's 5 multicolored wires, change the input to Component.
If it's an HDMI cable, change input to HDMI.
If you cannot change the input before the TV turns itself off, try unplugging the TV from the wall socket for about 10 seconds, and then plugging it back in. If its still on RGB, you're going to have to either find a way to get faster at switching inputs, or find an RGB cable and something to connect it to your TV. This is a last resort however.

Hi. I having a problem with my loptop Packard Bell EasyNote R1910. Sometimes its can't start up. it power up per several times. When it starts he's working perfectly but when i move it it's restarting or...

Hello.

The most common reasons are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

The universal cord, one end goes into LCD the other into computer, the end going into the LCD needs to be wiggled a lot to get the connection to work. Will a new cord solve the problem?

Does the universal cord go into the rgb1 , rgb2 or S video input.

if it's the rgb input, swap to the other rgb input.
otherwise borrow a cable from the neighbours computer and try that.

if the wiggling is still needed then that socket on the LCD has dry joints on the pcb inside

Problem charging my laptop. I have to wiggle and trick it to charge it.

Seems that either the power socket in the laptop has a loose connection, or the battery terminals are not having good contact with the metal prongs connecting it to the laptop charging circuitry.
A quick check to see if the power socket has a loose connection is to remove the battery & power the laptop only from the adapter. If the laptop works from the adapter without having to be wiggled, then the problem is not with the power socket. Instead, it is the battery contacts. Try to clean the contacts using a non-oily contact cleaner & see if this resolves the problem.

I am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

ruettab,

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

cheers,
mark

Easynote r1004 d.c. input socket broken

You really have to completely remove the motherboard from the case to do this. If you cannot find the exact replacement jack (not called socket in parts catalogues) you can just run the wires out of the case to whatever jack that will accomodate your adaptor. If you do not have the remove/replace procedures and still want to tackle this then make sure that you keep track of where EACH screw goes as they do vary in size/threads and pay careful attention to the ribbon connectors that connect to the keyboard, display and touchpad. The bottom of the laptop has little icons that relate to what the screw releases (like a keyboard icon) and even the screw designations molded into the bottom case. If this is a maiden voyage into laptop repair then research or you will learn the hard way. An ESD strap is essential here and all drives/battery/PC modules removed. Good luck. ~Steve
