PDV880 will not work even when plugged into an outlet

The DVD player was working beautifully, it just stopped working and it was plugged into an outlet. Lost the manual for the PDV880 and trying to locate another to see what could be the problem.

My Portable DVD player is less than one year old. All the sudden, it will not play even with plug in AC Adaptor. The battery doesn't even take charged.

My little DVD player did the same and I am heartbroken (and too broke to replace it) It is only a year old and I never used it without the power cord BUT lately a screen message was telling me the battery was low (despite it being plugged into the wall outlet)! HELP!!! Model is PDV880.

I have the same problem that I get no power whatsoever.

Manual repair compnay says to buy a new PDV880 battery, they priced it to me for $38

I plan on searching ebay for a cheaper battery.

I have the same problem. I ordered a new AC adaptor for this thinking (hoping) that was the problem. Alco Electronics sent me a power cord which doesn't even fit into this.....

What format dvd do i need

Any DVD that is prerecorded should work in this inexpensive player. Make sure that you have some type of earpieces for the sound because the internal speaker is not very good. If you are wanting to play DVDs that you have recorded yourself, they should still work because most DVD players nowadays will play any DVD that was made in the USA.

My purchase of PDV880 8 in. did not have the ac power adapter included

I found a listing on "http://www.ebay.com/itm/9V-AC-DC-power-adapter-Venturer-PDV880-portable-DVD-/110624776686" for about $11 USD,

You may want to look at the specs on the back of the unit and try to match it up with a similar unit from a thrift store or such if you cannot contact the company for a new one.

I recently purchased a portable DVD player and there is no manual to explain how to work the buttons on it . . . the arrows, the square and the circular control. Can you help me with this?

If you mean that the buttons do not work, then look at the controls on the side of the DVD palayer. There is usually one marked 'HOLD' which cause the buttons to be locked against accidental use. Try moving this to the OFF position.

My venturer PDV880 won't charge or turn on?

Check your ac adaptor to see if it has voltage with a voltmeter. Replace the ac adaptor, otherwise you need repair of your dvd portable player.

If the battery needs replacing will the unit still work with the charger?

Hello,

the answer is yes. The battery is there in case there no charger, but since there is charger, the player will definitely work even without the battery.

Good luck.

PDV 880 will not play after charging

Venturer - PDV880 9901321 The Disc goes too fast. It started OK then all of a sudden stopped working. Put another dvd in and does the same thing. We have used this 4 times. Got it as a gift. Don't know where they bought it.
