Range cooker (Hoover hpf90x) started flashing on and off then went dead,

Hi,

I was using a disc grinder and the power tripped, soon afterwards my range cooker`s timer display started flashing and the oven light and oven came on and went off just like the timer. Soon the oven went completely dead.

Could I do something about this, like replacing a fuse?

Thanks,

Conrad

Make sure there are no exposed wires, this will cause certain wires to touch and rip breakers, and also start a fire, if not dealt with.

Electric range heard a loud bang then it went dead

I WOULD DISCONECT THE POWER AND REMOVE THE BACK PANNELS AND LOOK FOR A SHORTED WIRE OR A BURN MARK ON THE BOARD. ALSO CHECK WHERE THE CORD ATACHES TO THE STOVE. GOOD LUCK!

Trips breaker when plugged in

If it still does, you have a dead short in the electrical system of the dryer. Don't try to use it until you get it fixed. It could start a fire.

Blows house trip when oven is turned on

Here is a diagram showing how the range receptacle should be wired. I would begin by checking there.

GJP85200 Whirlpool Oven display went dead

First you need to check if a supply is available to the machine. The safest way to do this is with a non-contact voltage detector. You can get one for around £10. (Also called volt sniffers by some) If you have an electrical supply to the machine I would call for service, use yell.com to contact your most local cooker engineer. If there is no supply you need to check back at your fuseboard to find out why.Have you reset all the trips?. Is there a spur with a fuse in it between the cooker and the fuse box?
