Cluster of stuck pixels

I have a Toshiba 20AF43 TV (standard flatscreen) that I purchased in late 2003, which was working great until recently. The screen has developed a 4x4 cluster of stuck pixels (maybe not the right word, because this is not an LCD) in the upper right hand corner of the screen. These pixels are located just below the channel number and label, and are the same bright turquoise color as the text. They remain stuck on even once the channel number and label have disappeared. However, if I mute the sound or go to the control menus the blue spot disappears and the picture displays normally (i.e. the pixels are not dead or burned-in). I have tried restoring the factory settings and clearing all the channel labels and changing the display settings in the menus, all to no avail. I can't seem to find any information in the manual on this problem. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

White spot on screen

Sounds like you are describing stuck/dead pixel.

There is no fix, it is a Pixel gone out in display panel, good chance it is just stuck and will right itself but sadly sometimes they dont and the only fix is to replace the entire display panel
Manufactures warrant such defects different depending on amount of dead pixels on screen is considered faulty, ie 3 pixels grouped or 5 separate ones .

Power red light comes on and blinks off you can hear it click but doesn`t have picture come on. i must unpug my tv other wise it keeps on clicking.

Greetings!

You have a great little set. These made a great picture. It is impossible to tell without inspecting it myself, but the most common things we found on this era of Toshiba was open flyback transformers and shorted horizontal outputs. Neither of these do I recommend you attempt, because you will be working in the high voltage circuit and can subject your self to unhealthy voltages (in excess of 30,000 volts). Refer this to a qualified technician, but a fair and honest one who will charge you a fee that will make it worth repairing. Make sure he/she checks the socket on the picture tube, too.

Good luck,
Rob
