Builds up 50 psi and keeps running

I have an iron force oil less compressor, it slowly stopped building up pressure ( down to 25 psi ) . I replaced the piston and sleeve. ( the ring was worn out ) Now it will only build up 50 psi and keeps running - any ideas ?

SOURCE: Mastercraft 2.0 hp air compressor will not build up over 25 psi

sounds like a bad or broken valves in the head. crankcase needs a vent which is sometimes a small hole drilled into the oil fill plug and will normally blow some air out the vent while it runs

check valve plate and gasket for anything broken, also when you installed the piston into the cylinder did you push it up from the bottom? if the sealing ring is installed with it folded down towards the crankshaft will allow air to blowby, it needs to be facing up to pump correctly.

SOURCE: pressure in the tank only builds to 30 psi

Bad check valve. But I would check the regulator, by turning it down to about 10 PSI and running it and see if it builds again, if that works then it is the check valve. But from what you are saying I would replace the check valve anyways.

Air compressor will not restart after it builds pressure and pressure drops to 80 psi

Make sure the power cord is plugged into an adequate extension cord if one must be used. Never less than 12 gauge wire.

The start/run capacitor may need to be replaced.. If there are any ball check type valves, make sure they are not worn or sticking. they would be on the output of the compressor head itself.

How do I get the pressure build to 90 PSI It stops at 50 PSI not enough to use the Impact tool

There should be a pressure regulator with a gauge hooked to it. They usually have a knob that you turn to the right to increase the output pressure. If the compressor itself is not building more then 50 PSI then there is a problem with the unit.

We have a IR UP6 20hp, 200psi, w/intellisys. It will not stay loaded, goes up to 200 then will unload back to 120 then loads back up. Have replaced load and inlet valve/solenoid. We have an identical...

I have a Few questions before trying to answer.Does the pressure go up quickly to 200 psi and down to 120 psi or does the pressure build slowly to 200 psi and slowly down to 120 Psi. Does this unit have a dryer built in or in the system. Are the pressures set correctly on the intellisys. Does this unit have modulation. What mode of operation is unit in.
Pressure building up fast is an indication of an obstruction in the discharge line. It could be a valve positioned wrong or a dryer froze up. If the pressure builds slowly up and down it sounds like the intellisys settings are incorrect. If the unit has modulation and is operating in modulation it sounds like the cash regulator needs adjusting.

Air Compressor will not build up over 25 PSI

your max pressure switch is faulty, and shutting off the power early. replace switch, check owners manual for location(should be near power wires)

EC-12 runs but only builds to 35 psi and continues to run

It looks like there might be a knob which sets the max air pressure coming from the compressor. If there is one, this may have been turned down.

There are usually 3 pressure settings on an electric compressor. Compressor max, pressure switch cut on, and pressure switch cut off.

My EC12 builds up pressure, but then releases all but about 10 psi.

The non-return valve is sticking and it's an easy fix. First, for safety, unplug the electric power to the unit and release any pressure in the tanks. Then unscrew the cap of the non-return valve (between the compressor and the tanks). Inside you should find a tapered rubber plug which is probably sticking in the valve housing. Sand down the diameter of the large end of the plug, being careful not to damage the flat face at the narrow end (which is the sealing surface). For sanding try 400 or 600 grade wet-or-dry paper and sand until the plug just moves freely in the housing. Reassemble and the compressor should work. Incidentally it's an oil-type unit, and quite durable. Make sure it has enough oil.
