My washing machine will not begin any cycle, however if you manually turn the knob it will start a rinse or a spin. Any one have any ideas what the problem could be?
You dont say if the water lever is ok, asuming is yes the water level switch is the problem,, unplug the machine and open de upper side to access to the water level switch check the thin hose to be conected to the switch and is not broken,, nock the switch with something like a screw driver if not replace the switch..good luck...

Tips for a great answer:
The problem is the pressure switch has failed or the hose is plugged up, has a hole in it. These are usually inexpensive and are very easy to replace. Here is a video this will walk you thru testing and replacing a pressure switch. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available.
