Only those who have webcam can be viewed by the other person on Skype. So if you have a webcam and your chatmate doesn't have a webcam, your chatmate can view you but you can't view him/her.

No.

Is's ok to have only one cam.

You can see the video from your oposite if they have a cam.
Or if only you have a cam the other party should be able to see you.

I have Logitech notebook pro webcam, when on skype my picture shows abut nd the other person can hear me just fine but I cannot receive video from the other party but can hear them also.. Any...

Dear friend, if other side does not have a cam or does not put the cam on mode for you then your not able to view them. Some time other side camera window will open in your Skype but you can't see the image. May be you seen black screen or green. It will happens for the few reason. 1. Slow internet connection, 2. wireless net connection, 3. if the other side camera open for other messenger , for exam Yahoo/msn & at the same time she/he sending you a cam viewing invitation in Skype , that time you will see those screens. 4. After log in go in Privacy then Calls & then open video settings. Now you set the Automatically receive video from mode & try after that to use.

Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

I need skydude cam driver

Ensure the web cam is secured to your personal computer (PC). Most web cams use a "plug and play" principle. You plug the web cam in; it operates.

Install the required software for the web cam to operate. This may involve placing a CD in one of the drives, or alternatively, downloading the software from a host site.

Always reboot the computer after installing new software.

Click on the desktop icon or the program icon to start the program. If the program is correctly functioning, the web cam will start producing an image of its view on the desktop. Adjust the web cam for a clear picture and the view you want.

Most web programs will have a icon for "take picture." Left click on that icon or button. The web cam, like a normal camera, will then "freeze" that image and place it in a photo library.

Open the photo library and examine the image just taken. Congratulations, you just took a photograph with your web cam.

My web cam doesnot function during internet chat, what would I do?

How much memory do you have installed in your computer. It requires a fair amount of memory to run the camera and all the other apps you have running.
Hope this helps. Bud

Web cam on gmail

Here's how I did it:
- When you first pop out your N800 cam it'll ask you to set up an ID, this seems to have nothing to do with your gmail ID so I just used my name.
- I have a gmail account
- The other party has a gmail account
- In gmail, I had to go into 'Contacts' and set the 'Show in quick contacts' to 'Always'
- Make sure the other person is logged in to gmail via a browser.
- The above made the gmail contact of the other party visible in the N800 when I went online through wi-fi. NB: Setting the contact to 'Always' seems to be the only way of importing contacts from gmail into the N800.
- In the N800 I could then click the contacts applet (the two persons applet in the left column) and send an invitation (in the menu), and select the above contact.
- The PC person would then receive the invite in a gmail chat window, with a link. Clicking the link downloaded and installed the PC application. Apparently the other party also got to select a user id, because I then got a ring from the person, with a new ID that I recognized as different from the gmail name.
- Video popped up, but black on my side because the PC webcam wouldn't work.
- The other party could see my picture just fine.
- The voice had so much breakups though that it was close to unusable..
- The PC app. apparently used some 98% CPU, which could be the cause of the voice breakup problems. __________________
