How to replace the lamp on a 50v500 hitachi television

Hello
This is usually not a repair a layman is able to do
as the ammount of plugs and wiring that go with it.
also the tubes have to be set up after installation .
The actual problem may be the red driver transistor or a cold solder joint.
I recommend a tec. to repair it.

You need to replace the lamp; UX21511 about $100.00 for a replacement. It is very easy to replace.

Do you have the hitachi user manul for your TV.
If you have it The page number 69-73 gives you more details step by step to replace the lamp.

If you do not have a manual please let us know.

Go to Hitachi.com and put in the model# of your tv. The manufactruer has made it to where you the comsumer can change the lamp yourself. Use a vacume to clean out any dust. Hope this helps.
