Loudness Equalization : on

Equalizer: Choose one (Jazz seems to be loudest setting but sounds of hallway effect so I use powerful for clarity.)

This has more than doubled the level of volume on my acer 5570.

THANK YOU!!! I haven't been able to hear **** for like a year and just by pressing that volume equalizer button, the volume output increased by like 500%. THANK YOU! I was contemplating getting a set of speakers to hook up.

The sound of each application played in the system can be amplified up to 500%. Letasoft Sound Booster can increase the volume of programs such as web browsers, online communication software (Skype, MSN, Live), any media player or game. Simply put, with Letasoft Sound Booster, the volume of virtually any program that can play any sound on the PC can be increased to a comfortable level. You can control the current volume with the pop-up slider in the taskbar. Alternatively, you can use system-wide hotkeys to increase or decrease, and use them when you need to adjust the volume. Letasoft Sound Booster constantly monitors the current gain level and prevents samples from becoming saturated, thereby avoiding larger sound distortions.https://keygensoft.com/letasoft-sound-bo...

Also check the audio mixer( right click the speaker icon on task bar) and see the level for wave etc. if its set too low you always hear low volume.

I had the same problem (Windows XP). Here's what worked for me:

Control Panel (using Category View) > Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices > Click the "Volume" tab along the top (if not already there) > near the bottom in the "Speaker Settings" section, click "Speaker Volume" > "Restore Defaults"

Right click on the audio settings, go into the advanced speaker options, and select stereo laptop speakers. It automatically makes it louder.

I had the same problem. Do the above, but also go to Sony laptop setup. There is a simple bass/treble equalizer. Put both levels to maximum and you should have an acceptable volume level. If you no longer have the setup utility, you can download it from the Sony website.

This is a very common problem with Windows 7 OS, it doesn't matter which laptop you are using..Get the help below..

Try setting the volume of your default audio player to max even if you are not using it.

Check to see what other video players you have on your computer. I've noticed that real player, even if closed, affects the computer volume. Open real player and set volume to max, which should fix the problem. NB. volume stays loud even after you close real player

Try downloading vlc media player from the net and using that to play your files

Try checking the program you are having problem with perhaps it has volume cointrol of it's own

  • Anonymous Dec 09, 2019

old PC, laptops and runs XP no doubt.
all laptops have weak sound, all do
use external powered speakers. bingo LOUD!
but if they had said, it was loud before but not now, then here is that answer.
    clearly:
first off the OP never gave a clue as to what media they were using, DVD can have weak sound, (using wrong audio choices in the media players does that)
nor if internet sounds, (name a URL)
nor if playing MP3 CDs. or CD_CA store bought music, not one clue stating what you are doing.
    OR?

lets say even windows SOUNDs are weak.
NOw that is clear as bell.
The first cure and alway first on ANY PC
is to get the correct XP drivers for sound/audio from HP.com (or MS,microsoft)
no other driver is better, matched.
loaded then use Control panel sounds to set the sound VOLUME as you want.

just 2 steps, 1":load the correct driver.
then 2: adjust it as you wish.

but XP is virus magnet and if the OS is corrupted as Most XP PCs are all hope is gone.

SOURCE: volume at 100% and sound too low to watch dvd

Hi,

Just cross check the volume settings in volume controls. All the sliders should be at max level specially Volume Control and CD Player.

If it is fine then there is some thing wrong with the media you are trying to watch or can be problem with audio driver.

Max volume to low

Check the settings of the monitor for audio volume. Also check the individual volume control setting for the applications and system sounds. Or call ViewSonic technical support for assistance.

Volume keyboard

Go into function and look for the volume setting for your main voice - could be R1. This will give a numeric value of 127 or less. It sounds like you need to increase it, try 100 as that is usually sufficient.

Sound output is low nowadays even at full volume whereas before it was ok. I didn't change anything with my computer nor did I change my speakers.

Two possible causes.1) Vol Settings changed in windows2) Bad hardware
1) Check your system's sound settings:

For Xp
  • Goto Control Panel
  • Double Click Sound and Audio devices / Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices
  • In device Volume Click Advance
  • Master Volume Control Window will open
  • Increase all the volumes to max, also make sure that Mute us UNCHECKED.

OR
  • From the bottom right corner of your screen in system tray, double click a small speaker icon and open Master Volume Control.

For Vista and Windows 7
  • From system tray (its at bottom right corner of your screen) double click on small speaker icon, it will open Volume mixer
  • Increase the volume to max.

2) If this does not work, then test your speakers by connecting it to some other system and vice versa.
If you get desired sound volume when you connect some other speakers to your system, then you have to change your speakers. And if your speakers are working fine on other system then you may have to purchase a new sound card.

Sound is low

try to see if the wave volume is on and maximum on the volume panel ( double click on vol icon on tray system (right low) ) ...also see if your speakers are plugged into the proper place ...and are not in the auxiliary out or something like this ...they should be plugged into the green middle out ...if they are simple stereo 3,2 jack ...so ..if the problem its still on ..its probably the sound card...(actually the pre-amplifier on it ..)

Volume settings at max but sound very low

If you're playing a prepacked CD or DVD and the sound is below normal then there's something wrong with the computer. I would let the manufacturer take a look at it. If these are CD's or DVD's you made, then I'd try them in another CPU first.
