IS THERE A BLOCKAGE IN THE PUMP OR THE MOTHER BOARD IS FAULTY

check for the pump belt broken or off,clogged pump or sock or small item clogging the tub outlet to pump hose. the pump pulley may have become loose on the shaft also

Does it not spin just in the final cycle or not at all during the wash cycle? Also, does the wash cycle agitate normal?

it is not supposed to pump water unless it is in the spin cycle. On most topload washers the motor turns one way for the agitate cycle and then the motor reverses during the spin/rinse cycle which in turn reverses the pump and causes it to pump the water out.

this could be as eazy as a saftey switch or it might be called a door switch or it is going to be in the brake assem if that is it repalce the washer good luck to you

There is a high possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin. Bad water pump. Replace water pump.tip machine back,Look under machine, remove belt, turn pump by hand, if not spinning freely replace pump.

Depending on type of washer, typical top load Maytag, motor turns in opposite direction for wash and spin. Your problem will no doubt be the transmission.
