Looking for chip code for the MP1400 power supply......

Hi, I have an MP1400 which has a blown power supply. The problem is, I can't find the code on the switch-mode controller chip as the top has exploded off! The chip is the 8-pin SOP chip on the small daughterboard which stands off of the power supply module. This board has two optoisolaters on, and the chip in question is on the right. If possible, I also need the codes for all the transistors and passive devices around that area. I also need the code for the 3-pin TO202 type device marked "Q2" on the main board of the same PSU module? Or, does anyone know where I could buy a service manual for this projector? Thanks in advance, Ash Evans.

SOURCE: Won't power off when pressing power button, just goes to standby mode

With most projectors you have to press the power button twice to confirm that you want to turn it off. When you press it the first time it waits for a bit and then turns itself back on assuming you hit the power button on accident.

SOURCE: Won't power off when pressing power button, just goes to standby mode

Also, note that you need to wait a short time before pressing the power button the second time. When you press the button the first time, the projector wil display a screen saying it is going into standby. In about 5 seconds, the screen will go blank. Pres the power button the second time right after the screen goes blank.

SOURCE: I have an Compaq MP1400 projector not working

Hello :

1:Remove the lamp from the projector. Ensure that it has no cracks, discoloration or "smoky" appearance.

2:Try removing and reseating the lamp, or to try another lamp.

3:Reset your lamp timer. Most projectors have no way of knowing if you physically have replaced your lamp or moved it out . They rely on the user resetting the lamp timer

4:Pull the lamp back out of the unit, give is a brisk shake and reseat the lamp. Occasionally there is some buildup on the lamp contacts or filament during manufacturing.

5:Are the input and output vents blocked or obstructed in any way? That could cause overheating problem and what you see with your projector is one of it's symptoms .

6:Are the filters dirty or clogged? Most manufacturers will recommend filter cleaning on a monthly basis depending on usage .After cleaning the filter always remember to reset your projector .

7:Remove any extension cords, power strips and/or surge suppressors. Many current model projectors will not even try to ignite the lamp if they detect drops or fluctuation in voltage supplied to the unit. This is a safety feature to reduce stress on the lamp.

You can try a new PSU with at least 350 watts and that will determine as to whether the PSU is blown.n I'm suprised that a simple card reader would have blown the supply though, I wonder if you have managed to short out the board somehow. I can understand the USB controller chip being blown, but that and the audio too suggests that the power regulation has overloaded the motherboard

hi,
Error code 2-2 indicates "Short Protect Circuit" problem in tv.
Need to check pico fuses in power supply as one or two got blown due to bad convergence chips.
Below is an exploded view of tv chassis, power supply and convergence area has been marked to give you better idea to look for pico fuses.
Unplug tv from wall socket before to repair/check any thing inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.

Behringer PMH 880S Hi; Can anyone help. I am desperatley looking for the schematic circuit diagram for the switching power supply Behringer Model SPS1000/02 which is fitted to the PMH 880S, and also the...

Oh yes... I have repaired several of these supplies.
For the IGBT's use APT28GA60BD15 which are pricey at $9.28 from Digikey.com (still lower than alternative sources. Getting the heatsinks off, one of which has a thermal sensor as well is a real pain! Transformers don't fail...
The C2655's are really 2SC2655-Y and those I get from Allied. The mating 2SA1020-Y I believe is available either at Digikey.com or Mouser.com.
You will LIKELY find the IR2153 chip is blown and that I had to get from Allied. Usually one of the PL4148 surface mount gate drive speed up diodes is blown either short or open (D24 and D25).
Often transistor T9 is gonzo (BC856MTTCT).
Often the 10 or 22 ohm wirewound charging resistors are blown open. I use TWW10J20RE as replacemens for those. Be sure and use silicone to help support them.
Now when you are done with that, you need to find WHY the supply failed. It is either because a ceramic cap across the 85 volts failed OR one of the power amps arced out. If the unit has the HCA2400 amp in it I will tell you what happens: In the vicinity of the SPF9640 MOSFET and a big surface mounted cap will be an arc between layers of the multi-layer circuit board. This shorts and fries the IRFP250 MOSFET and BOTH SFP9640 MOSFETS. The repair of this is major involving carving out the "cancer" and reinsulating with epoxy and replacing blown carved out traces with hookup wire. The proceedure I can't document here, but failure to correct this will result in power supply failing again.
FOR YOUR SAFETY ONLY work on the supply using an isolation transformer. Use a 150 Watt lamp in series for testing to act as a fuse so you don't pop the supply again. DISCHARGE the 85 volt outputs BEFORE plugging the amps back on the power supply.

I have a MAGNAV0X 42MF231D/331D PLASMA TV when I turned it on last night it made a poping sound and now I have a black screen. What could it be and is it worth fixing?

Hmmmm..sounds to me that the power supply has blown. Remove the back cover with no power to the tv, and check the central power supply board. You may find that the capacitors on it have exploded (they should have flat tops on them and bulge up and sometimes excrete a brown liquid when faulty). If these are faulty replace all and all should be ok..Also another problem could be an exploded y-sus buffer chip.Looking from the back..it is located along the far left side.Check that none of the chips which are covered in clear resin have shot or gone brown along their edges. If they have, you need to replace the y-sus and the y-sus buffer.
You can buy these boards from ebay or various websites by searching.

Mini hi-fi JVC CA-FSX3 stops after power on

Well, I disassembled the unit carefully. And I've found that diode SR303 was blown. It's very easy to find near huge pulse-code converter chip. This diode is used at power supply stabilization for amplifier that has a D-class i.e. pulse-code amplifier, and for CD part. Testing of this diode confirmed that it's dead. After a couple of days received the diode from shop, is very cheap. Changing the diode recovered all the functions of the unit. Now it works fine.
Resume: The diode was burned as a result of incorrect connection to line input. The owner of the unit haven't seen that a volume level was at maximum. The connection of line input overloaded the maximum current capacity of the diode and it was blown. As for it, I've seen that in that circuit in reality must be used a stabilization chip, that is not so cheap like a diode. I think it's a constructor's error to change the chip, that is overload protected, to a simple diode.
Waiting that my info will be useful because it´s a most vulnerable part of JVC CA-FSX3. And don't overload the amplifier!

Connecting Macbook with a compaq MP1400 digital projector

You're going to need a conversion dongle that goes from the Mini-DVI to VGA.

Then:
  1. Connect one end of the projector signal cable to the Video Graphics Array (VGA) connector on the projector.
  2. Connect the other end of the projector signal cable to the Digital Video Interface (DVI) connector or VGA connector on the notebook computer and tighten the screws.
  3. Connect the projector power cord to the power cord connector on the projector.
  4. Connect the other end of the power cord to an electrical outlet that is easily accessible and close to the projector.
  5. Turn on the projector first, then turn on the computer.
