The first thing you need to check is if you have sufficient power going to the fishfinder. Take a multimeter and measure the dc voltage going to the display when the unit is off and also on. If this is below 12 vdc this is your problem. You will need to check for loose connections and possibly replace your battery.
If the voltage is good then the problem lies within the display. Unfortunately, you would have to contact Humminbird directly to return the display for repair or purchase a new fishfinder.

Hi! If your unit is a portable unit (takes 8 'AA' batteries), make sure that the batteries say 1.5 volts and not 1.2 or 1.3 volts as these won't have the right amount of power. If not, make sure that the power cable (where it plugs into the sounder) is installed with the small notch pointed towards the top. Best of luck! Mike
