most LG have a "vacation switch" on the bottom right hand side of the set very near that standby light.

it is placed poorly, where you can accidently click when grabbing the TV to move it or swivel it.

it is a toggle switch, a "master power" switch.

you may have bumped it to the off position. flip the switch, your standby light will come back on.

The 37 " lg tv

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.

Hope this will helpout....

Plasma LG 42PC1D just clicks when you power it on and will sometimes turn on after 30 -40 attemps

This sounds like you have a known issue with the power supply board. The power supply is seeing a problem (typically with the 5vdc) and will shut down the TV just after you try to turn it on.

If you keep trying to turn on the TV, eventually you will catch the 5vdc circuit working and the TV will work until you turn it off.

Soon, the power supply will fail to where the TV will not come back on.

The power supply is around $160 and up. I can find your part number if you give me the rest of the numbers after the model number (example "A.SUSLLJR").

Or, you can have someone in your area fix you TV.

Good luck. I hope my information has helped you.
