Paper jam Two pieces of paper became stuck while I was printing. I was able to remove one piece. The second piece is halfway out of the printer, but I am not able to remove it. It is stuck. About 5 inches are out--as if it has printed and is being ejected. But it is stuck tight. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Joyce [email protected]

SOURCE: pixma mp460 error 5100

this error is an error within the printer. This error means that there is something obstructing the printing process. Check inside your printer through the gears that you can see under the lid. There should be something obstructing the gears such as dirt or in my case popcorn. There was even some paper caught underneath the rollers that I had to jiggle around to even see. Check VERY thoroughly.

SOURCE: paper jam, and I don't

I had the same problem.  I had removed all the visible paper and when it came back on made some awful noises and flashed "paper jam".
I even moved the roller forward and backward (after having uplugged the device.  I did this repeatedly and the "paper jam" alert continued (along with the awful noise).
As a last resort I thought I would just take it apart and hope to get it back together but figured it was a sensor or something along that line if I could not find any paper anywhere

with the machine unplugged (it would not shut down), I opened the lid I used a flashligt to look around trying to figure out how to take it apart.
It then dawned on me that I had not moved the print head over and using a screwdriver I gently pushed it to the center of the bar.  When I looked inside with a flashlight, there was the paper jam way inside under the cover.
I used some needlenose to reach in and took the paper out and it is now working fine.
I hope this helps, but you may have to search really deep into the device.

SOURCE: How do I fix a paper jam?

You won't be able to make the printer work backward and push the paper out. Start by powering OFF the printer (unplug it if necessary). Then look to open up the front/top/back as appropriate to clear the paper jam. Frequently, if you pull straight and carefully (slowly), the paper will come out in one piece and solve your problem. If any pieces are left inside, remove them all before attempting to power ON the printer. If in doubt as to clearing, read the user manual - troubleshooting section on clearing paper jams. Good Luck!

Paper jam while back yo back printing, one side copy is coming easily

Hi,

Please clear out the paper jam by removing the tray and removing any pieces of paper stuck in the printer. You can also open up the back of the printer and remove paper as well. Then, try to print on both-sides again. If your printer has multiple trays, try switching the source tray prior to printing.

Thank you.

I have a piece of paper stuck in the top of my hp 1012 printer and I cannot get at the area where the paper is.

Follow these steps to remove jammed paper from the printer

.
1.Open the print cartridge door, and then remove the print cartridge.
NOTE:  Opening the print cartridge door and removing the print cartridge relieves tension on the product rollers, which prevents damage to the product and makes the removal of jammed pages easier.

CAUTION:  To prevent damage to the print cartridge, cover it with a sheet of paper to minimize exposure to direct light.

2.With both hands, grasp the paper where it is most visible, including the middle, and then carefully pull the paper straight out of the product.

ESP5200printer,new,paper jam message

Hi slicknick58,

Paper jam message occurs when there are stuck papers inside the printer. There are several ways on how to correct this problem, either you remove the visible stuck paper manually or replace the toner or ink cartridge. Below are the steps you'll want to follow when this problem still occurs.

1. Turn off the printer. Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam.

2. Inspect the location or tray the printed paper ejects to. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.

3. Open the printer door that allows you access to the printer ink cartridges or toner and look for any stuck paper. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.

4. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.

5. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.

6. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper . Don't force anything.

7. Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.

8. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path and try repeating the above steps again.

Hope it helps.

First i had an error PAPER JAM , then i open my printer to get out the paper unfortunately the paper became two pieces and one of them get stuck in again. and now i can get it out of my printer.what...

Good day.
There are practical way of removing paper bits in your printer.
- try to print again or load a paper. The bits of paper may move with the new paper that you have loaded or printed in.
- you can get a household tweezers to pick-up the bits of paper left in your printer.

Good luck.

Major Paper Jam on Dell 5110

When working with any printer it's inevitable that you'll encounter a paper jam. Below are the steps you'll want to follow when this occurs.

1. Turn off the printer.
2. Inspect the location or tray the printed paper ejects to. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
3. Remove all paper trays and any paper that may be stuck between the tray and the printer. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
4. Open the printer door that allows you access to the printer ink cartridges or toner and look for any stuck paper. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
5. Turn the printer back on. If you continue to receive a printer jam error try repeating the above steps again.

If issue still persist and you see no paper that is stuck in the printer it's likely your printer is experiencing another hardware issue and we suggest contacting the printer manufacturer for additional assistance and/or repair. *

To manually remove paper pull on the paper with both hands being careful not to tear the paper while pulling it. If you're unable to get to an edge of the paper that allows you to pull it you may need to manually rotate the gears that feed the paper through the printer. Preventing a printer paper jam As mentioned earlier it is inevitable that you will encounter at least one paper jam during the life of your printer.

However, if you're encountering frequent paper jams following the below steps can help prevent paper jams from occurring. * If your printer has a paper tray do not fill the tray to capacity. If you're encountering frequent paper jams reduce the amount of paper you place in the tray each time it is filled. * Make sure you or the tray feeding the paper into the printer is aligned properly and/or the slider used to hold the paper in place in the tray is snug with the paper. Many printers have sliders that allow different types and sizes of paper to be fed into the printer. If the slider is not properly positioned it can cause paper jams. *

Use standard office paper; folded paper, paper with labels, and specialty paper such as hard bound paper can often cause paper jams. If you're uncertain with what type of paper you should use with your printer your printer documentation will list the types of paper compatible with your printer. * Do not mix the types of paper you're feeding into the printer at one time. If you need to change the type of paper or size of paper being used removed any other paper currently in the printer before inserting the new paper. * Examine the printer for any previous stuck paper in the printer. Previous paper jams, torn paper, printing labels or other foreign objects in the printer can cause reoccurring printer jams.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

HP 4L printer indicates no paper when the tray has

When you removed the paper jam, was the paper torn? If so, did you ensure that you found all the pieces. (Put the piece of paper back together like a puzzle to verify). There could be a piece of paper stuck in the printer that is causing the paper sensor to fail.
The other possibility is that when you removed the paper jam, something became dislodged in the printer. Forcefully removing paper from the printer can cause this.

Paper jam

This is bad news for these printers. Paper jams tend to ruin the print head. To get the paper out, first remove the print head and ink, if possible. Then go in back of the printer and at the bottom there's a piece that can be pulled out. That piece is hard to get in so take very careful not of how it looks as you pull it out so you can put it in the same way. The piece is sunk into the printer a bit and you got to pull by both ends of it. From there you should be able to pull the paper out. When done, put that piece back in and put the print head and ink back into the printer. The reason for removing it is to minimize any further damage it might get from pulling on the paper under it. Also be sure to put the print head on a paper towel and do not put the circuit board/contacts of it touching anything.
