Kenwood ddx712 i have a kenwood ddx712 and i install it in my ride but i recent changed the batterie now it is askin for a password and i didnt put any there and i dont have a remote can anyone help me reset it please email me at [email protected]` I have the same issue with my kenwood ddx712. I never turned the password feature on, but after having to jump start the car, the head unit wants a password in order to use it. I had disconnected the batttery several times before when installing my amps and the unit would come on fine. Thanks.

    Thanks for the help, unfortunately none of those worked. I checked the manual and packaging for a sticker but no dice. The only sticker was the "Certified Upgrade" sticker on the box (this means that someone other than me has powered it on at some point). I also tried the 3 codes suggested (along with all of the other obvious ones) with no luck.

    When I contacted Kenwood, they said to ship it to a certified repair shop. I am hoping that is a last resort, that is why I am here. Thanks.

    I have tried all the basic codes, 0000, 1111, ......., phone numbers, etc... so it is obvious that I did not set the feature up because I have only a handful of 4 digit "pins" I would have used. I even tried a series of numbers I found on the box and in the manual with no luck. Keep offering suggestions! thanks.

    Shipping it off to a service center is a last resort, that's why I am on this site.

Well, hate to say this friend ... but sending it to the repair centre would be the best and the only option to resolve the issue.

All the codes given above are not for the unit and there is no way you can reset the units using the remotes.

Ok, here is solution to enter security code in Kenwood.

1= Press >>| key for 5~6 seconds while pressing [Auto] key. Display will show CODE - - - -
2= Press remote [5] key 2 times, display show K, now press >>| key
3= press remote [2] key 3 times, display show C. now press >>| key
4= Press remote [2] key 1 time, display show A, now press >>| key
5= Press remote [7] key 2 times, display show R, now press >>| key
6= Display will show APPROVED and job is done.

    You need to contact Kenwood service center to unlock code of your player and they would charge some fee to do so.

    I think we have been reached at point to ship it to service center.
    Code lock release are some thing classified job and such info are not generally available.

Hi,

There are some reported cases of Kenwood units going into "PROTECT" mode when the main power was interrupted. These are traced to firmware and the main reason for the feature, security. There are four (4) possible ways of re-establishing operation of the unit by inputting the code:

  • consult the owner/user's manual. normally the code is on a sticker in one of the front/backpages;
  • consult the dealer or point of purchase with proof of ownership;
  • try K C A R or 3 0 5 1 or 1 2 3 4 as the code;
  • seek the services of firm that deals with this problem.
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    aso please check out in the manual for this code.

    its a 4 digit code should be entered if asked to enter.

    for example--1111-- or ---0000--

    like that something would be given.

    please check.

It looks like bios password what you need is to find the battery on the motherboard it will be a CR2032 a size of a Quarter remove it for about 2 hrs and put it back on it should clear it.

Kenwood ddx712 says parking off when dvd is put in while drivind
This is ok, it is trying to protect you from losing focus on your driving. It is asking for you to pull the parking brake up so that you wont drive while watching a movie, it is against the law to drive while watching TV in a moving vehicle, you must be parked to watch, it is possible to bypass the P-Brake so that you can watch as you drive but it then becomes a technical issue which is too long for me to guide you through here and most car audio shops will not do it for you due to liability reasons if you get into an accident, they dont want to get sued.

i have the kvt-815dvd and i just did this this morning get any kenwood remote that has a 10 digit key pad on it push the reset button and you have to do this fast as soon as the lights come on saying there is power but before the display lights up press this in this sequence

Password help!
Enter the security code using your Kenwood remote. For the DDX6019
The key sequence to enter the security code KCAR : on the side of the remote there is AUD, DVD,TV. now enter 55 in the AUD then go to DVD and enter 2 which is fast forward then go back to AUD. Do the same for the rest.
