SOURCE: After final rinse on my Whirlpool dishwasher panel went dead

Check your main power input. Switch off and ON. If no display
Internal fuse / circuit would have tripped.

Try replacing / Resetting. No improvement contact service center for assistance.

Is this a typical problem with this model dishwasher?

fuses do not blow from power surges or spikes
only from excessive current flow
for your own safety ,get in an accredited electrician to check the circuity of the house and then with that certificate in hand you can go back to sears and demand a refund of your money for a defective unit
their requirement is a ways of getting around a refund payment

My Whirlpool GU2400XTP dishwasher keeps blowing the fuse. It sat up for 6months because the control panel went out and I couldn't afford to get a new one. Finally replaced the panel and the thermal fuse...

Are you replacing the wires along with the fuse? It is important to change the wires too as they are usually the cause for the fuse blowing. Be sure and get the fuse kit that includes the wires.

Is your water too hot? Hot water is fine but too hot of water can cause the fuse to blow over time. The temp should be somewhere around 120 F. Anything over 130 F is way too hot. I personally don't use a long high steam final rinse or high heat because over time the steam and cause the electronics to short as steam and moisture can get into the keyboard and inside panel.

Hello- This unit has a thermal fuse inside the door panel on the control. This part is replaceable. If it is bad, replace.- and would suggest not using heated dry as this is most common cause of fuse failure. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed.- Thanks- ED

Thermal fuse for Whirlpool Quiet Partner II

while it is possible that something could be drawing too much current, it is not likely to cause the "thermal" fuse to blow. what i would like to know is, did you use the wiring kit made by whirlpool to replace the wiring? if not then you probably arent getting a good enough connection on the thermal fuse itself.
what causes a thermal fuse to fail is ... get this... too much heat. so a loose connection is the most likely cause. check with your parts house and see if they can find the right repair kit that comes with a wiring replacement with the thermal fuse.

Recall on like Dishwasher--when they repaired mine I think the put in bad part

There was a recall on certain models of Kenmore dishwashers. This recall was to replace the heating element. If it lasted a year it is possible that the element could have went bad again, but not likely. There are several things that can cause the thermal fuse to blow. I would recommend having and authorized repair company take a look at it for you as the part they installed over a year ago would no longer be under warranty.

I hope this helps.
