My radio remote will turn on but then the buttons will not work to control the unit. I have to unplug the unit to shut it off .Anyone else have this problem?

The comfort control center requires 12 VDC . If a fuse blew that feeds 12 VDC to control box at ceiling for some reason in your panel when unplugged accidentally, that would cause the remote/wall and control box at ceiling not to communicate.

Woods makes a few different timers with remote.
One of them has 3 buttons

You can try unplugging all 3 remote units so they reset, and then try setting up on button #3 first.

You can also work around using this method: unplug all remote units. Plug in two remote units and turn both lamps ON. Then use button #1 to connect to both of those remote units simultaneously. This way, two different lamps can be controlled by one button.

If remote control is genuinely defective, then send it back for replacement.

Try the following steps:
1. Turn on your tv. 2. Press and hold the "set" button, then press the "tv" button. 3. Release the buttons. Then, press "set" once more. Point the remote at the tv. 4. Press the power button repeatedly until the tv shuts off. 5. When the tv powers off, press the "tv" button one more time. Your remote should be programed to the tv.
To program other devices into the remote, use the same procedure described above, except press the corresponding key for the device instead of "tv." ex: to program the vcr, press "vcr" instead of "tv."

please cheek the following to find ouy if your remote is working
1 remove batties hold down one button on remote control for 30 sec fit new battiers and test
2 if you have a mw radio turn this to about 1,3Mhz hold remote control near radio ,pressing any button on the remote will be heard from the radio in the form of poping / ticking noise ,
3 another test would be to point the remote contrul towards a digital camer pressing a button will show a dot flash on ldc display

Remove all batteries from your remotes. Unplug the unit for several minutes. Plug unit in and use the controls on the set to turn it on and adjust the volume. This will eliminate the remotes. They could have a button stuck. If this does not work you may have a legitimate problem and need a tech.

unplug the reciver from the back of it and wait for 20 sec. and plug it back in, this should allow you to eject. now turn off your car and jush eject, when it opens to eject's push the release button on the back of the face like your removing it but instead force the face to completely go down, as far as it will go. now turn your car on and put a cd in and see if that works for ya.

I am as well, does anyone know how to change or fix it-- it is driving me insane!

This problem is caused due to the fact that xm has designed there radios to completely shut off all power with the unit therefore the unit once off will not be able to recieve information from the remote. This manufacturing defect was confirmed by the xm representative, they also explained that the company is currently planning to fix this issue on the new 2009 model xpress rc
