My Sony Walkman mp3 player NWZ - S540 fell off my stand in the bath room and into the sink while water was on. What do I do I have had it for almost 2 years and now it is not working right

I don't know what to do. I don't have any rise to put it in and I picked it up really fast once it happened. It will turn on but sometimes it is frozen and then it will move on its own. Or it will be unplugged and the battery icon is still going. It wont connect to my computer at all. I dont know what to do.

Try removing any covers that you can without breaking anything, then fill a container with uncooked rice and push the player into the rice and cover the container. Leave it like this for a week or so.

I had the same problem after using this product for a month, suddenly it showed the warning of write protection.

I even contacted the sony customer center but to no avail. their answer was of no help at all. so here is what i did to make it work: 1) First install "QuickTime version 7.2" or later (you can download it from torrent if you are unable to register it, i.e. with a crack) 2) Then install "Windows Media Player 11 " (you can download it from torrent if you are unable to validate it, i.e. if WinXP not original) 3) Now install "Media Manager for WALKMAN" (a compatible software provided by the sony company to interact or communicate with the walkman), freely available for you to download at sony's website.
After the installation, connect the walkman to your computer. Now it should easily add or delete data from you walkman using this software or without it as well.

ok, just tried something with maybe a solution....

I was connected via an usb hub to my laptop, then it said battery is full, it apparently didn't charge.

When i connect my usb cable directly to my laptop it started to charge again!!.

My usb hub is not connected to a adapter so all power comes from the USB port, this may be not strong enough to charge your walkman.

Try this (so directly connect to your desk / laptop) it may work!

No. The only thing it will erase is the time, but that's easy to fix. Reseting it shouldn't do anything to your music at all.

Unfortunately if the Walkman is not serviced within the hour of the accident it is already to late. When water enters it corrodes the ic pins and eventually works it's way in the ic casing and other critical parts causing short circuits, even if it worked! it will go into cascade failure in a matter hours, days, or weeks depending on the situation. I recommend not sinking any money into it because it will be wasted. Any electronic boards must be washed in rubbing alcohol and other parts that are important to get rid of any water residue, and the units have to be completely dis-assembled to have a fighting chance of success.

It is so easy to transfer music files, videos and pictures to a Sony Walkman using Windows Explorer. Of-course, it is almost same for other manufacturer products as well. You can use theWindows Explorer to transfer files (music, images and videos) to a Walkman Player. Once you connect the Walkman Player to the Computer, it will display asan additional storage media under My Computer. Please follow the below steps toaccess the Walkman Player using Windows Explorer.

Click Start and then click My Computer .
In the My Computer window, under Other , double click the icon for your portable player.
In the My Computer[Name of your portable player] window, double click Storage Media .

Now, drag and drop the music files or folders into the MUSIC folder.

Hello, I'm not able to play files on my Sony walkman NWZ-B133F MP3 Player. Please help, the error being shown is "Boot Eeror"

Yo tenia este problema y esta solucionada.
Sigue los siguientes pasos.
1- Baja firmware nwz-b133f (firmware nwz-b130 v-1.01)
2- Baja firmware nwz-b103 (firmware nwz-b100 v-1.3)
3- Primero ejecutar firmware nwz-b100 , conecta tu walkman
cuando pida conectar por favor el dispositivo luego pida formatear
el dispositivo vas a perder toda la informacion has click en
aceptar.
4- No desconectas tu walkman espere hasta que formatea
todo y carga todas su datos , este era necesario para el puro
formato porque el firmware nwz-b130 no lo hace.
5- Desconectas tu walkman y vas a ver que no enciende (logico no
es su firmware)
6- Ahora ejecutar firmware nwz-b130 , conecta tu walkman cuando
pida conectar por favor el dispositivo , no desconectas tu
walkman espere hasta que carga todas su datos.
7- Cuando termina desconecta tu walkman de manera segura.
8- Listo como nuevo.

My sony walkman NWZ-A726 4GB fell into water and it does'nt work now...

You should have immediately turned it off after removing from the water and let it dry for a few days. But now you should open it up and clean all the conatcts with alcohol and see if it works again. There is only a slim chance that it will.
