Sounds like a power supply issue. Does the power indicator light up? Can you hear a click when the power button is pressed?

SOURCE: TV will not turn on. Clicking noise heard from inside.

These sets use what is called a "switch mode" power supply. In order for them to work there is a capacitor that "kick" starts the process. If that cap goes bad, the power supply will not start up. Also, there are other caps inside that maintain the oscillation required for the power supply to work. There are 2 options for you here.

1) Replace the entire power supply module.
2) Repair the existing one.

Sicne these types of power supplies are not the easies to diagnose or repair, I would suggest that you replace the power supply module. That should resolve the problem.

Please note that there are other causes of the reported problem, but hte power module becoming defective is the most common.

Why does my KD-32FS170 32" Sony Trinitron screen have blue hues

If you turn all of the color out of the TV, the picture should be black and white. If that picture is not a true black and white picture, the TV will produce a color picture that has that behind it. It takes the proper mixture of red, green and blue light to produce white. This is something that is done inside the glass picture tube.
In your case, one color (blue is stronger) and the others are weaker.
It probably had not been used for a while. SOMETIMES, the weaker colors will get stronger with use. Adjust the brightness and picture controls to get the closest you can to a black and white picture, and then add the amount of color that seems right to you. Use the TV and hope for the best. It will improve, but 2%, 10%, or 50%; I do not know. The proper repair is to replace the glass picture tube, which is not an option at this time. So, turn it on, play games, and HOPE for the best.

Tv went to black and white

It may be a wire has come loose. Check your video inputs. Especially if you have animals or small children. On certain video inputs you lose color if one wire comes loose.

When i plug in my wii the color is like black and white pretty much, ive tried plugging in the cords every way but it doesnt work..the tv color works just fine and the other game consoles ive plugged in...

  • Is this your first time hooking up the Wii console or have you moved it to another TV or VCR? If so, please refer to your manual to review the step-by-step connection guide. Our experience shows that the majority of these issues can be solved by double-checking your connection and finding the correct Input Select for your TV or VCR.

  • If you have verified the connection is correct, and are still receiving a blank white or blank dark screen when powering on your Wii console, then the problem is likely with the system and it will need to be repaired. Please call Nintendo Support for repair options. 1-800-895-1672
If you do not have a manual for reference, here is the set up info online: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/setupAV.jsp

Good luck! Hope this helps! :)

Color to black and white and back again

Since you're using a composite cable (yellow RCA) that carries both luma (brightness) and chroma (color) information, it's not the cable that is the problem.

That means it's either the DVD player itself, or the TV. If you have another video device (VCR, etc) that you can connect to the TV, try that. If the other device also goes from color to black and white, then it's your TV. Otherwise the problem is your DVD player.

Since your TV only has mono audio (white RCA, but no red) I would recommend getting a new TV if the TV is to blame.

Black and white picture on the JVC TH-505

If you hold the VFP button while a movie is on, you will get a small box on the corner that shows your color. My default color also turned black and white. I just moved over to a user1 color setting (push the right arrow on your remote), and it allows to the change the colors. You might be able to put the colors to come out through here. Hope this helps.

DVD Plays in Black and White

Depending what cables you have, try plugging only the yellow cable into "video out", I previously had red, white, and yellow cables plugged into "comopents out" and only got black and white. Doing only the yellow into video out gave me color.
