Ipod "format error' problem

I have a Chinese-made ipod with 1GB capacity, Until recently it was playing all MP3 songs well. Few days back I copied a few songs from the net after that it shows `format error'. It plays the songs only for a few seconds and automatically it goes to the next song. No song is being played in full. Please let me have a solution to this problem.

With regards

I brought a chinese apple ipod of 32gb ...problem is when i put more than 10 songs i get a a format error even though there is no format error

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

I have 4gb ipod but not detecting 4gb detecting 114mb only . but play the song in mp3 format disk error is coming .

Either your disk is corrupted or there's some old data on it. If it's the latter you can fix it by formatting the disk. here's how to do it:
  1. Connect ipod to computer.
  2. If u use windows, right click your Ipod in my computer and click 'format'
  3. a small window will open, click format at the bottom of it. wait until completed.
  4. Copy your songs back to ipod and check again.
Good luck!

MP3 Player plays only 25 songs, capacity 1GB (861 MB)

Seems like a big problems you got there...

I reccomened re-formatting your drive to fat32 (for windows users) and giving it a second try.

I had the saem trouble a while back with my iPod Video 60gb and noticed that it was storing huge amounts of data that wasnt meant to be there. After the reformat it all worked again.

You also sure its not a full drive? because my Q-Be used to say "file error" on a full drive (vista bug)

---Give reformatting a go though.
