Forgotten password for wifi network

Which operating system ??
Your wireless Internet password is the encrypted security pass phrase that was set up when you installed your wireless router.

Your router allows you to access the Internet.
If you have access to more than one wireless network, you may need to remember multiple passwords.

If you happen to forget one password, you have two options: reset your password or locate the current password.

Windows 7 allows you to view the security characters of all your wireless network passwords.
Click the "Wi-Fi" network icon located on the Window's taskbar.

Right-click the name of your network's "SSID" name and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu.

Click the "Security Tab." The network security key is now visible but unreadable.

Click the "Show Characters" check box and this will reveal your wireless password.

Wireless networking is a common feature in homes and offices.
Wireless routers provide access to a single Internet source, and wireless passwords ensure that only select users can access the network.

If a password is forgotten or lost, the password can be recovered or reset by accessing the router's Web-based settings menu.

Most wireless routers also have a reset button, which is capable of returning the router to its default settings which includes resetting the password.

Connect to your Wi-Fi or attach your computer directly to the router with an Ethernet cable.
Open your Web browser.

Enter the default address of your router.
The default address is listed in your user manual or on the product website.

Linksys and 3Com routers typically use "192.168.1.1" while Netgear routers use "192.168.0.1."
Enter your username and password.

Many routers use "admin" for the username and password by default.
Locate the wireless security settings. Disable the wireless security.

Reset to Factory Defaults

Locate the reset button on your router.
Typically the reset button is a small indented hole on the back of the device.

Insert a long thin object such as a paperclip and hold down the reset button for 30 seconds to revert the router to its factory default settings.

I forgot my password

Hi,
If you have forgotten the router password you can reset it.
To do this, turn the router upside down and look for a small pinhole that says reset. Get a stapler and press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds.
The router will reset to factory defaults and you will be able to login again using the default username and password. For linksys routers is "admin" for both fields.
