What I am trying to do is improve on my now existing system. I do an acoustic act (play guitar and sing). What the Yamaha 512 has is, 4 input channels with compressors, 2 channels (2-1/4" jacks L/R each), 2 channels (2- RCA input jacks L/R for each), built in reverb / echo effects processor (1/4" jack effect out), Monitor with 7 band Eq., effect return & master knobs, Master with 7 band Eq., effect return & master knobs. 2 RCA jacks rec. out, 1-1/4" jack monitor out, and 2-1/4" jacks main out. Can I get this system to work with the Bose 901 series VI system with positive results? If I can, what do I need to get it hooked up? Thank You for your inputs.

might just be the pickups and their age. or a faulty cable
SOURCE: Crate 100 head. Reverb doesn't work.
Check the input RCA plug going into the reverb tank (silver box with two wires connected to it). Make sure the amp is off when you do this. Sounds like the output is working fine if hitting the amp does it.

The preamp section has a problem. It could be anything in the preamp but is OFTEN the input jack itself. They take a lot of abuse.
Also the insert jack contacts that forward the preamp to the power amp if no external FX are used can go bad.
Additional things are circuit board cracks caused by rough handling and also controls that have had the knobs mashed in which can destroy the potentiometers they are connected to.
