I just replaced this battery myself, it wasn't easy, but is doable. First, you will need some tweezers, a tiny phillips, and a tiny flat blade screwdriver. Totally at your own risk!

- Remove the 4 small screws on the back of the watch
- You will see a large battery under a metal clamp, this is for the back light. Remove the two phillips screws securing the clamp, and put that aside with the battery and screws. The clamp also has a metal flap on the side that acts as part of the mechanism for the back light button.
- You will now see the second battery hiding under the circuit board, it will have a small black circular rubber sticker on it. Remove the third remaining screw (very near the right hand one you have already removed) to take off the circuit board. It is clicked down slightly onto two lugs, so prise carefully at the left and right to free it
- At this point be very careful not to tip the watch upside down. There are two very small brass springs which make contact with the very top and bottom underneath of the circuit board, which now they are removed could easy fall out
- Under the circuit board is a plastic sheet, remove carefully with tweezers
- You are nearly there! There are three flat head screws, I got away with just undoing the two nearest the battery, and the third I loosened off enough to carefully lift the metal up to get the battery out
- Carefully remove black sticker, and put it on the replacement battery instead, and now reverse the entire process. Getting the metal clamp back on to secure the battery, and put the screws back is really quite fiddly, make sure it is help down properly
- Make sure before you put the circuit board back, that the two brass springs are in place. When putting the metal clamp over the larger battery, make sure the metal flap that is pushed by the backlight button is in place properly.

Avoid touching anything inside the watch with fingers, use tweezers to remove screws and parts, and make sure you keep track of which screws went where. Good luck!

Thanks! I replaced the first battery but watch remained stopped (backlight was fine!) Found your post googling to find a replacement watch. That second battery is well-hidden!

Thank you for this post. I also replaced first battery and only the backlight worked. After some research I found this post. I followed your directions to the letter. Those brass springs jumped out of their holes while undoing the last 3 screws. Luckily I was working on a good desk setup, so I carefully put them aside while replacing the second battery. Overall, this was a very tricky undertaking but like you said it is do-able. The battery that came out was a SR626SW and was replaced with a eclipse 377. My daughter was delighted to have her watch back working. Thank you for help. David

SOURCE: i have a lorus mickey

You may need to have a local jeweler who has a watch press to put it back on, If you put to much pressure on the inside of the back, it may be warped. A knowledgeable jeweler should be able to fix that issue also.

SOURCE: installed battery in lorus musical

mcdevito75 here, A quartz mechanism can go bad just like a light bulb, depending on the watches age, wear etc. If your watch was stored for a period of time with a dead battery in it, that dead battery could hve leaked, ruining the mechanism. If your watch worked fine and the battery just went dead, make sure the battery contacts inside the watch are clean, use a Q-tip dipped in Alcohol and gently clean the battery contacts, press the button for the music part of your Lorus and make sure those contacts are clean and are meeting once the button is pressed, this you can see with the back cover off the watch. Makes sure the battery is installed correctly, and that the new battery number is the same as the old battery number. 364 and 371 are popular batteries for Lorus musical watches, even though your new battery is new, it can still be dead, who knows how long it was on the store shelf?? also, double check as some Lorus Musical watches have 2 batteries, 1 battery would be rather large ans sitting just under it"s hold down bracket see, as soon as you remove the back cover, if so, that battery must also be replaced. I have an old Mickey Lorus musical useing a 397 battery just 1 but my Lorus is burnt out. If all this fails, I would look for a small watch repair shop in your area and have them look at the watch for you.

There is no CR920 3 volt battery and especially will not work for any Lorus watch. There is the SR920SW and SR920W series 1.55 volt silver alkaline cell.. 9 mm diameter x 2.0 mm height is an impossible size for this old Lorus watch.

My gold Mickey mouse Lorus watch was opened a part damaged by the person replacing the battery. This is not a digital watch, but has nthe mouse with hands and a second wheel at bottom.

You are probably going to have to look for an identical watch for parts. You might try this site:
http://www.esslinger.com/watchparts.aspx?gclid=COCr3t2F9KUCFcIKKgodgiARnA which is parts for watches. I'd have a look on ebay as well for a watch that is not working. Of course it does depend on the part you are looking for. I am also wondering if the inner parts for another Lorus mickey moue watch might fit, but maybe you don;t wish to change it out from the original.
