My seagate portable terabyte hard drive has videos stored on it. When I plug this hard drive directly into my sharp tv using the usb port, I am unable to connect to the hard drive device and play videos directly from it. The hard drive light turns on but I am not able to read and play videos from the device. I know I can just plug the device into my computer and plug my computer to the tv but I heard I could avoid this hassle and just plug the drive to the tv. Please help.
The USB port on LC-32SB24U is only for firmware and other service updates. The TV can't understand the video file format; you will need to connect the TV to your computer as a monitor to display the videos. The manual discusses using the Service port starting on page 26.
