Lexmark Z1300 yes I have a lexmark 1300 and cant get it to connect to my laptop. I d ownloaded the drivers but now it is says that I am using a USB cable but the printer is set to a USB port, so whay do I need 2 do know

Take printer program completely out and then restart computer and then plug it in...windows update will find it for you

USB printer cable and a driver is what you need. Get the driver for your OS at www.lexmark.com/support

Have you tried going online to Lexmark's website to download the latest software and drivers?

Go to lexmark.com, click on drivers and downloads, download by product - click on consumer inkjets - z1300 and pick your operating system. Download correct driver and follow instructions to install.

Hi Not sure witch windows you have so I put the XP and Vista just click on the one you need.

You can download a driver from my website then you can use the driver to set your printer up.
Just click on this link and it will download for you, and it is best to save it on your desktop so you can find it.

This is for the Lexmark-Z1300 XP and Vista.

Begin by making sure power is on and ink cartridges are installed. DO NOT connect the USB cable.

Insert your CD and install the software. Connect the USB cable when prompted by the software.

Note: If you get any "New Hardware Found" windows pop up, just close them out.

Microsoft's licenses that authorized manufacturers of printing and imaging equipment, including Lexmark, to include Microsoft's related USB files in printer and scanner drivers have also terminated. Consequently, Lexmark no longer is authorized to reproduce or distribute any Lexmark drivers that include Windows 98/Me USB functionality. Lexmark has removed Microsoft Windows 98/Me USB files from our currently distributed CDs as well as all web packages for Windows 98 and ME. This means that Lexmark is no longer able to provide Windows 98/Me USB functionality in any drivers for existing products. You need to install the software from printer disk before connecting printer USB to the laptop.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
