While the tv was on the screen went to very bright white and tv made a loud thumping noise. tThe thumping noise continued every second or so until I unplugged the set. The fuse tests ok but the tv is dead---no leds no picture no sound. Any advise will be very much appreciated.-------------------Roverd

The buzzing noise you are hearing is most likely the ballast fire, this is good. You most likely have a bad lamp which is the best case for you. I would recommend pulling the lamp out and looking at it to see if its physically shattered or not.
The instructions for pulling the lamp can be found in your owners manual. If you do not have this anymore just look on the sides or the back of the tv for a small door with a screw or 2 in it. take those screws out and the door should come off, then take the screw(s) out of the lamp and pull it out. if you see glass rolling around inside you will need a new lamp. Let me know and I will help you find a good one at a good price.
