Have an old rave mp3 player, do not have the driver disc, help

Hi ukwildcat87...

Unless your running windows 98 you do not need drivers as they are already installed in your computer using XP,Vista,Windows 7.
Your MP3 player may not be recognized by the computer...for that problem thy this solution.
***********************************************************************************************************
Go to Device Manager
To get to Device Manager you will:
Right click on My Computer>Properties>click the Hardware Tab>Device Manager.
After you are in Device Manager look for your MP3 player or Unit.
Here you should see no "Yellow" exclamation points.
If you do they they are telling you that you have a device conflict.
If you currnetly have your unit plugged in, you may notice the "unknown device" which would be your Player or Unit.
If you unit has an exclamation point by it, then you will need to click on it and delete it.
After you remove all devices with conflicts then click on refresh and search again for your MP3 player/Device.
The computer should install your device this time and solve your problem with connection of the MP3 player/Device.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

Windows media player won't recognize device. do not have installation disc.

If the device can be seen as a "mass storage device"
(go to my computer, and explore your device)
find where you want to put your files and simply copy and paste or drag and drop the files you want in it, into this place.

If this is nto possible then, unlucky. try calling the support line etc...
HOPE THIS HELPS :D

Organize mp3's

check the order they are in and see if they are being sorted in alphabetical order of file name. If they are then rename file name and put a 11_ if front of the file name and then make the next one 12_ and then 13_ and then 14_

Windows xp wont recognize usb connection from rave. Is there a driver I need?

If you're using the retractable usb cable that came with the player, replace it. I had the same problem. XP recognized that there was a device, but couldn't open it. I was getting a "Driver not installed" error in device manager.

This slot is for an SD card. You use this to expand the amount of music you
can hold.

Have you tried using the install CD to re-install the player?
Or you can go in windows and under folder options, click show hidden files and folders. And hide operating files.
This will show all the files on the CD.
Remember to restore the settings to normal after you have done.

Rave Mp3

just basically have to hook it up to the PC and reload the firmware. (Tnough it seems the company is no longer in business, you might be able to find the firmware update file out on the net somewhere.) Seems to freeze up more if I have the SD memory card in there. Had better luck with some types of SD cards than others (faster speed cards seem to cause me less probs.) or backup the music etc, and restore the player to factory settings. good luck.

SD Card

Mine works with 2GB card... AFAIK, that's the max, although I haven't tried a 4GB card.

I found updated firmware at:

http://uiss.max.io/

*update*  site has not been updated and download links not working... useful info there nonetheless... I will put the file(s) on my site:

http://french.moren.ca/rave-mp/Rave-MP-Install.zip

http://french.moren.ca/rave-mp/iLO256Manual.pdf

expect them up there by Oct. 20/07...

the ILO player referred to there is electronically identical, if not physical and the update works with all the Rave MP AMP series. I had a hard time finding this but it was worth the effort.

works great :-)

Rave mp mp3 player ---- frozen

Try a separate SD memory card (no bigger than 512mb). Also try replacing the battery if you haven't already. Mine has done this intermittantly since it was about a year old.
