Go to control panel. Click SOUND AUDIO DEVICES, click PLACE VOLUME ICON IN TASKBAR, then click APPLY. done

SOURCE: vista volume control icon missing

First thing to do is try the easy fix...
Right Click on Taskbar > Properties > Notification Area tab > under system icons, check Volume

If that doesn't fix it, follow this link to the Microsoft Support site which will have a button you can use which will fix it for you...

Go to ACER web site and download the CAM Drivers and install them again. OR, go to the Control panel/devices/ and look down the list and look for an ICON suggesting a device is not recognized. Click on the ICON and select Update Driver.

I havent been able to use the inbuilt mic of my acer aspire 4736z .i have not also been able to locate the mic in my computer and my operating systemis windows 7 ultimate 64 bit version and please help me...

May be your mic volume is turn off, Go to contol panel then look for the sound icon and open it check your mic volume if it was mute, then just uncheck the mute box to turn it on...
