It seems the lines are getting spreading down more after time

I have the same problem but on an older model - NO. STV2556 and after a few days it turned into no picture just a white line in the middle. Im trying to find a wire diagram showing those exact wires and diods.

  • bubbleboy300 Jun 01, 2008

I need a diagram of an OrionT.V. NO. STV2556 to replace these diods. And what specific diods do I need.

This sounds like theres a capacitor somewhere in the vertical sweep circuit. You can replace the capacitor if you have a soldering iron and some electronic experience on trouble shooting tv sets. It is most likely from what you described the capacitor off the high voltage transformer that supplys the b+ to the vertical output IC. A repair person should be able to give ya a ball park on the cost as Im thinking somewhere from 85 to 135 Bucks depending on if theres only one cap goiung bad or could be a couple or more starting to dry up. So its your ball now .. Do you wanna spend that much to repair the set Do you like the set? is the set over 3 to 5 years old? Its up to you. Good Luck

IMO Seriously for $119 it's not worth it.
However, it does sound like a capacitor problem
If you are "Serious" about fixing I'd find a TV repair Forum.
Else I'd go here and get a new one.

sounds like bad capacitor in vertical circuit. It's not a hard fix if you know where to look. Repair shop should not have hard time repairing it.

HD61W66YX60

this is a convergence issue. it is caused by one of three things
1. a bad convergence board
2. a bad fuse feeding the convergence circut
3. a bad relay feeding the convergence circut

whatever the one it is they all have the same result, an inoperative convergence curcut. needs service .

if it is still under warranty, great. If not the parts can cost up to $300 and labor can be the same
