Monitor problem The monitor was working just fine. Now it won't show anything on screen.I checked it out on several computers and it still doesn't show anything. When I turn it on the green light comes on then it shows the orange light. It never shows the acer logo when turned on. My cables are ok cause they work fine with other monitors. This monitor is only few months old so it can't be old age

You first need to check the screen is working, disconnect the VGA/DVI cable from the monitor, then turn it on do you get anything on screen at all?

If that works reconnect the cable and turn it on, now boot the PC, do you see anything at all on the monitor?


No then check the cable/swop with new one or check the graphics card.


Yes but goes off after a few seconds, reboot and press the F8 key as soon as you hear the first beep, this should bring up a start menu, try safe mode, if that works load and windows it might be the graphics driver (has this been updated?) if yes try roll back to previous driver or you could even try system restore back to a date you know it all worked.

Make sure the VGA cable is properly inserted to your pc and monitor

According to your detailed description, there are two chanses for this fault. Either its LCD panel of backlight inverter baord has some kind of short circuit. Detailed troubleshooting should be done. It is a highly skilled work. OK.

Died and went to monitor heaven. U can always check out the power supply. But other than that you may need to go shopping.

Make sure that the cable is connected from your computer to the monitor, and if it is wiggle it and push it in all the way. If it has screws, screw them in. If that does not work, check that your monitor is on the correct input (if it has multiple) then see if anything comes on the monitor. If nothing happens you should buy a new cable from the store. If all of those steps do not work your computer or your monitor might have a more serious problem.

Check the VGA output pins on your computer. Install a different monitor and see if it works on your computer. Or it could also be the VGA cable (pins) on the monitor is loose.

mcdevito75 here, Press the SHIFT key, a screen should come up telling you too click on your user name, left lower side of screen. If this doesn"t work, press the yellow blinking light on the monitor see if picture comes back, then follow the directions. If this doesn"t work, shut computer down with switch on the computer itself. Hope this helps.

Does the monitor have multiple inputs on the back of the panel? For example, there will be the power input, and at least one other input (Blue 15 pin or White DVI).

This could be a matter of the wrong input selected from your monitor's menu. I have seen this issue personally several times. Please check the settings and change the input.

Does your desktop/PC display show anything before the monitor goes into power save mode? If nothing comes up, its possible that you have a loose VGA connection or that your video card/motherboard are defective in some ways. Try using a different monitor.

If the other monitor works fine with your computer, try changing/lowering the screen resolution. If in XP right-click on the desktop and go to Properties, and select the tab for display settings and adjust the resolution. If in Vista/Win7, right-click the desktop and select Screen Resolution/Display Settings and adjust it there. Then check and see if your LG monitor works on it.

If the other monitor also doesn't show any display, most likely the problem is either with your video cable or your PCs video card/motherboard, not the monitor.
