Question about Olympus WS-300M Digital Voice Recorder

1 Answer

Won't turn on

The battery is new and even when I plug it on to my comp it wont open the files, doesn't even appear on My Computer file. It worked just fine both days before but I noticed that it just stopped working. Its not on hold, and its at least a bit over a year old. I have tried almost everything except whacking it, shocking it and dissecting it. I don't put it near anything that can break it, when its in my bag its in a pocket for my pen drives.

It's hardly going to be a battery problem if it doesn't even work when you plug it into the computer. I have the same problem - It was just over a year old - it worked the week before and just stopped working out of the blue - I keep it in a protective case and had had no previous problems - the thing is with technology having moved on so much this recorder is half the price to buy new now and is probably cheaper to replace than to repair - I am very disappointed with its longevity as it cost over £100 new but now you can but it new on Amazon now for about £58. it is a shame as it was a great little recorder.

Wont transfer pics to comp

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Aspire 5100 wont save when i shut down

It appears that the C dirve is using 98% of space. Let us try to delete some temporary files, to do so, click Start Menu> Run> type %temp% and hit enter. It will open the temporary folder, delete all the files listed in this folder. Now, again click Start> Run> type prefetch and hit enter, it will open the prefetch folder, delete all the files listed on it. It should take care of the issue.

My sansa e260 wont show the songs i just added from my comp

On your player, try going to Settings, USB Mode, and switch it to MSC if you didn't. Now plug your player in and go to "My computer", and open up your player. It is now used as a storage device, but you can still edit the music section (including the video section). Now try deleting all the music inside and create a new folder for your music. Now drag all your music files inside the folder you just made (this will not affect your album, genre, etc categories). After that, unplug your device and try the music files to see if they work. If they still don't work, I suggest you just format (reset) your player. To do that, simply plug your device on your computer. Then go to "My Computer" and when you see the device there, right click it and click on "Format...". Before that, if you don't want to loose any of your files (music, video, etc), I suggest you store them in your PC and put them back in your player after the reset.

I have Sanso m250 2.0gb mobel. Logo screen is appearing when i power on after that i am unable to play the mp3 songs or play FM Radio etc..

Try doing a hard reset on a Sansa m250:
  1. Turn off the Sansa. Just pull the battery out for a second.
  2. Plug the Sansa into a computer4.gif, and open "My Documents" in the computer.
  3. Open the Sansa file as if it were a drive, then go to the "MUSIC4.gif Specific storage" file.
  4. Right click the "MUSIC Specific storage" file, and press "Format."
This should hard reset the Sansa m250. I do not know if this will work on other Sansa m200 type .mp3 players. You can start over with your playlists. This has worked for me.
